Went to quite 3 gigs last year, Faithless, Roger Waters - performing Dark Side of the Moon and the Foo Fighters.....
This year I have tickets for the Foo's at Wembley in June, and will probably be going to Beautiful Dayz Festival in Devon.....

Well, well - looks like we have some new blood in the Fortress!
Welcome to the site, Succubus. Sounds like excellent gigs - I've seen the Foo's a few times myself but not for a good few years now. One time I saw them they had Redd Kross supporting and it was immense.
What was Roger Waters like? and who's playing the Beautiful Days festival?

New blood, hell yeah, and a right gobby mare at that!!!!! you have been warned Roger Waters was amazing, i saw him at Glastonbury a few years ago too but have to say i preferred the indoor gig at the NEC for the lasers and effects....... and the mad thing is, its David Gilmour who I have had a schoolgirl crush on for 30 years but I have never seen him live. Mind you I would probably pee my pants if I did!! here is a link to Beautiful Days - its a cracking little festival..... www.beautifuldays.org/news/4716 its just outside Exeter and its organised by The Levellers - another brilliant live band!

Can I ask a fairly self-obsessed question? How did you find this site?
Don't get me wrong, I'm always glad of a "gobby mare" (I'm not sure HOW I would translate that to our American Dwellers) but it's always nice to know what I'm doing right in the ways of promoting this place.

found you in a link on another site you have posted on, you amused and slightly irritated me so I wanted to find out more!
i like a good debate and I thought i might get one here, i have my own mind and opinions, and I try to keep an open mind about things, but if I dont agree with someone its no big deal, we are all entitled to say what we think, thats the point of most forums isnt it?
ahhhh gobby mare - translates to - she has too bloody much to say for herself ;D

"Amused and slightly irritated.."
Why, I think that's the nicest thing I've heard about me in a while.
Well, regardless - welcome aboard!

I forgot to add brutally honest too take it as a compliment, I would have been far ruder had I wanted to insult you but as I dont know you that seems a little pointless and immature!

Welcome to these parts, Succubus.
On the topic at hand, I might be seeing The Cure in June, if budget permits. Word is that their shows regularly go on for over three hours.

I don't think I could handle that much Robert Smith wail.

Succubus sounds like my kind of people for sure. I figured "gobby mare" meant loudmouth (gobby being "mouthy" and mare either short for "nightmare" or a female horse. Great term!). I'm not a complete tosser, you know! Was hearing Pink Floyd's music without Gilmour on guitar wierd?

It was weird not hearing Gilmour, and to be honest I am not a massive Roger Waters fan - I think he is a bit dark for my liking, and has too many unresolved personal issues, his solo work comes across as very bitter (as does some of Floyds work but I can get past that) mind you, I DO agree with his politics I think I am very biased towards Gimour cos I have always fancied the pants off him!!

Hmmmmmmmmmm.
Gentlemen of the Fortress - I believe we have an "intruder" from that site I was on a few days ago.
Which, if she is actually wanting to contribute here - is fine, swell and whoop.
I shall investigate.

yep its me - didnt mean to make it a big secret, thought you were a little more open minded, and if you care to check, you will see I havent really posted on the other site for some time - I use a closed forum most of the time - less chance of trolling muppets we find membership is by referral only

I don't mind at all. Just thought you MIGHT have mentioned it, you know. But that's cool. Getting new people on the site was the entire purpose of going over there in the first place.
Make yourself at home.
