OK, here's what we're going to do. Pick a track, any track, that you imagine won't be instantly known to the rest of the Dwellers in here (for example, don't post the video to "Smells Like Teen Spirit" or anything) that you like and see what everyone makes of it. Some may know it, some may not, some may like it, some may not - and we'll take it from there. Doesn't have to be your favourite song ever or anything, just something you enjoy that you want to share with others. I'll kick off with a band that are making a huuuuge comeback in the UK at the moment - Blur. One of my all-time favourite British bands, they were in very real danger of being written off as goonish Cockney fops after the ever-so English "Great Escape" album, until they went to America, rejected the Britpop scene and embraced the lo-fi sound of Pavement etc. And then they came back with the album "Blur", which had the unescapable "Song 2" (which could be found soundtracking pretty much every video game, movie and sporting event that year). This track, M.O.R (which Blur are anything but), is from that album. Don't know if it made any sort of dent in the US, but it did pretty well over here, and the video is loads of fun too. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkZh6hB9cs0&feature=channelAnd so it starts. Talk about the above track, whether you rate it or not, and then post one of your own. Simple as that.

Oh, so THAT'S why no love for Oasis. Good song. I didn't realize Blur needed a comeback in the UK. I've never been a big fan of Albarn's voice, but "Song 2" is definitely a modern classic.
Recommend one song? Christ that's rough. I could think about that for weeks. I guess I'll drop some Fugazi on you guys off the top of my head since the other song I'm thinking of I've already posted here in the past and can't really be bought at this point. This is from Fugazi's last album before their self-imposed hiatus that keeps inching closer and closer to retirement. It's a fucking devastatingly good song. Here's "Epic Problem"

Is Dream Theater a cult band? Either way they're pretty amazing. Is "Metropolis" a concept album?

DT could also be known as one-hit wonders, but that would not do them justice. They get NO radio play nowdays, it's all fanbase and word of mouth. I think all their albums are progressive concept albums, but I am not positive.

Dream Theater are awesome. They've done some sweet stuff over the years. I'm going to go with Rapture by HURT. It got a ton of radio play where I live a few years back, but the band is still largely unknown, and though they have better songs, this one is probably the best representation of their sound. (I believe the official video is the radio version, which means the edited version, so I posted one of those "videos" that's just music) www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-NLa1K7Dj8

This is my favorite song at the moment. I don't care for their CD much, because 5FDP is a deathmetal band. But this particular song is a little more accessible. Plus it's just badass. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxX19_QAWbw

Are they really death metal? That song was far, far, FAR from death metal. I assume their other stuff is deathier. Here's my metal song of the moment. Sabbath + Dio = Heaven and Hell = AWESOME!

Baddass tune, of course! Yeah, 5FDP pissed off deathmetal fans for putting out a single that is so commercial. I actually was expecting all their songs on the CD to be similiar, but was disappointed to hear SHADFVHFV!!!!! JDEEEEKJLBVBV!!!! DJFKH AND GLBGBL!!! DIE BITCHSBLDIFUSGH!!!!!!! on all the other tracks. Oh well....

Curmudgeon, here's a band I'm sure you've heard of. Not sure why they haven't blown up in The States. Probably because we're idiots. Anyway, just a phenomenal British prog rock band www.youtube.com/watch?v=efsm6aJPybg

Best death metal lyrics ever! A coworker of mine is really into Porcupine Tree. Very interesting band, to say the least.
