IWM's Song Of The Week: Faith

Yes...it's me again and another song yet to throw out on the grill of criticism/appraisal. Now while I don't feel this is THE BEST song on offer from this guy, I believe in it's simplicity. I'm sure I'll get roasted by The Curmudgeon for this thought, but I'm already a walking zombie anyways so I'll go as far as to say it's George Micheal's equivalent of Prince's KISS; a simple song with a simple hook and lyrics that defy age.

Wolfman, our weird symbiotic relationship continues to amaze and terrify - I have ALWAYS said this was GM's attempt at a "Kiss" style song. Holy shit, I really do think we are the same person. Have I been sending myself parcels? From Finland? Of stuff I don't have?

George Michael is awesome. The Curmudgeon is a big fan. EXCELLENT song choice Wolfy!

Interesting. Perhaps we were separated at birth as Prince and George seem to have been.




The videos themselves even draw parallels between the songs. Leather jackets, sexy 80's chicks and lots of ass shakin'. It would not be unlike Prince to have gotten around to doing something like FAITH since it also deals with "religion" in a subtle way.

Trashy...the Limp Bizkit version sucks the major ass. I'm talking The Judge from Pink Floyd's THE WALL - kind of MAJOR ASS.

I actually fucking LOVED the Limp Bizkit version. I bought the single of the Mission Impossible theme song and that was the b-side. I thought I'd bought the best single ever.

That's odd. Faith was actually the song that made Limp Bizkit famous and they didn't do the MI thing until their third album years later. Beware of ANY band who gets big by covering an old hit, even if they sound cool at first. It never ends well.
