I've been complaining long and hard about the demise of artwork on music releases these days, especially single artwork which has all but died out with the domination of digital downloads. Thank the maker, then, for Rihanna. Or, at least the genius who saw Rihanna and thought, "hmmm. She's really hot. I wonder what she'd look like with a weird eye-patch thing. And naked. And covered in barbed wire." For it was that same genius who gave us this artwork for Rihanna's new single.. It may not be Sgt Peppers, but I know which one I'd rather have sat in on the photoshoot for.

Well, people ain't buying this kind of crap for the music now are they? If they did, there'd be a lot more ugly R&B artists.

I think Rihanna's a cut above the usual shit, though. I can't fault the likes of Umbrella, Shut up and Drive, Pon De Replay and Unfaithful as great pop songs. Her recent stuff's been a bit shit, though. I'll give you that.
I remember there was an interview with her by this British guy who was asking her about her work with producer Elephant Man. He asked was it hard working with him because he was so hideously ugly. She looked disgusted and said, "oh my god, NO. Why... why would you even say that?"
Sigh. Dumb broad.

I don't know; that is a stupid fucking thing to ask. Was she supposed to say "no, I can't allow somebody who's unattractive to produce my album because I'm afraid of musical cooties"? I actually have nothing against Rihanna because I know little of her music and she is hot as all hell, but I'm willing to bet the quality of her music is going to go downhill. It always does with her type.
