OK, see if you can figure this one out. For the record, I'm not saying I instantly believe or I'm looking to get Peter Venkman involved or anything, it's just... curious.
So, my three year old nephew has been the cause of some conversation in my family over the last few months. My sister (his mother) lives in the house my grandparents used to own. They're both dead now, and lived there until they died. You can probably see where I'm going with this.
So, a couple of months ago my nephew is playing in the hall, while my sister is in the bathroom. She then hears him talking away to someone, so much so that she goes out to see who he's talking to. He was, he said, talking to "the man with white hair." This continues for the next few weeks, with him constantly talking about, and to, the "man with white hair." One time my sister said, "is he here right now?" and he said, "no, he went through THE FLOOR."
And then, just last week, he said to MY mother that "your mum was here today, she said hello."
Where would a kid get this from? Why would he make this stuff up? Even my dad, the ultimate cynic who belives in nothing supernatural or paranormal in the slightest, can't explain it.
So what'd you think?

I think that kids have incredibly vivid and erratic imaginations that manifest in unexpected and creepy ways at times. I've heard young children say some seriously WTF things and stories like yours are all over the place. Is it possible that children are more sensitive to spiritual manifestations and ghosts really exist? I never rule anything out, but I don't hang my hat on it either. But until we find a way to capture some kind of definitive data that the supernatural exists, I'm remaining an open-minded skeptic.
