Here's an article that pissed me off, and it's only the latest in a recurring trend. Do read it.

Now, I play a lot of games and have seen a lot of partially-uncovered pixelated breasts. I've never considered it a big deal. You see, I may vacation nightly to videogameland, but I live in the real world. And in this world women also have mammary glands of various sizes. And they often leave them partially uncovered. Men (and many women) find this attractive. Everybody is happy. However, there has been this fake feminist movement thing that is building to the point where any game featuring women who can be seen as a potential "male fantasy" is being dragged through the mud and needlessly taken to task for no reason. All I ask is this: look at the men in these games as well. Insanely muscular. Badass. Hyper masculine. Occasionally shirtless. Almost as if they are designed to be some kind of ideal man. Hmmmmm. So let me just say: fuck this politically correct whining.

Do I want the women in my games to be 300 pounds and wearing burkas. No. I don't. I like looking at attractive girls. I'm not a pig and I have the utmost respect for women and everything about them. This include their bodies. And to me respect does not mean ignore and hide. The female form is marvelous to look upon and it's fucking stupid to pretend otherwise. We buy games and films and watch tv shows and read comics and these are all visual mediums. But if these mediums become intent on showing us things we don't care to see, why spend our money? We like to be taken away from the shitty things in our lives and for a couple of hours or so a day, we can dive into these things and be entertained, thrilled, and yes, titillated by awesome things that are the way we sometimes wish they were in real life. And who wants to dive into a world full of unattractive people? Exactly.

This is all an overreaction to the idiots that are infesting online gaming, youtube, and every other corner of the internet with unfiltered stupidity that causes them to provoke outrage by focusing on boobies. Yeah, you give people anonymity and they are going to say some ignorant shit. That's life. But to blame to developers of our entertainment is even more ignorant and annoying. May as well blame women for being pretty in the first place, or men for obsessing over their physical attributes. The last fucking people to blame are artists whose job it is to create fictional places we are willing to pay to visit. So once again, to all of those fake PC dicks who think being a feminist means women should be kept to be ugly, covered up, barefoot, and kitchenbound, and for all the loutish dudebros who provoke them I've got this to say:

I would tend to agree.

I mean I am not being funny but I don't really care about the size of Lara Crofts tits when playing tomb raider but I get why they make them that shape.

It would be completely different if it was a so called "girls game" glamorized the male form. Alas that is not really the case as most male video game "hunks" tend to lean towards the emo, mysterious robed twilight-a-likes. Though Link would maybe catch a doing.

I don't see people in outrage at games like Bratz which glamorize being vacuous and slutty, surely that is worse then increasing the cleavage on an obviously fantastical character in a video game. I know what I would rather my kids play. Tomb Raider all the way baby and she can keep her chebs.

Most fighting games are full of shirtless dudes with comic book bodies as well. And western RPG's are giving options to romance men these days and the result has been some pretty sexualized dudes with all of the fan art and such that goes with it. Come on, folks, we all love playing games. Let's not let real life political correctness ruin our digital fantasy lives as well. Boys like girls with boobs and girls like sensitive emo boys with ridiculous hair or macho men with ridiculous muscle definition. It's no big deal to let either side have their fun.

Say, fancy that, turns out that pretty much since the printed picture began circulating around a mass media, beautiful people have been at the forefront of our culture (and not just women either, think James Bond, the Chippendales, Angel, the Hoff, right up to Twilight where the Werewolf guy is fully clothed for four fucking MINUTES in the latest movie before taking his shirt off).

But of course, it's video games, which makes it the ultimate sin, right? Violence in movies and TV is fine - but holy shit, in a video game? Call the law. Same rules applies here too, I guess.

A pointless argument that seems to wrap itself in knots in the first few sentences. So the guy is complaining that the girl DOES have a backstory, but people are concentrating on her boobs? Says who? And she HAS a story. She IS a fully-fleshed character, not some Leisure Suit Larry pouting bimbo. We've ALL moved on from that, yet this guy seems to think we haven't. I call bullshit on this entire article.

Man, those images were like a tour of my greatest female fantasies through the modern decades until you hit the silicone 90's. Thanks for that picture show. Porn actually goes all the way back to the beginnings of written history itself. India and Japan in particular mass-produced that shit like nobody's business. I'm just happy that women are being portrayed as badass, competent, and indispensable in popular culture. And if they wanna show a little sexiness, I shan't complain and neither should anybody else. If you don't like it, get a new hobby. Simple and plain.
