So I got a nice surprise when I opened my post today. A gift from Fortress up-and-comer Quillguy - namely the entire boxset of Beavis and Butt-head spin-off, Daria. This; How cool is that? Proof, if it were needed, that the Fortress of Solitude eats Facebook fucking ALIVE when it comes to being a genuine community. Daria was always a show I wanted to get into, but was on at ridiculous times of the day before Sky+ was invented, so it passed me by. That will soon be rectified. Quillguy - you're awesome. And as thanks, here's a pic of your favourite piece of ass, Avril Lavigne, looking smoking hot. Oh. Shit. Well.... nearly.

Man, I forgot all about that show. Talk about a complete change of pace from the source material. I can do you way better on the pics, Quillguy. Those ones look like Lavigne was smoking crack rather than smoking hot. Holy shit. The list of things I would not do for a night with that purveyor of horrid kiddie-pop is a small one indeed.

47 seconds in is, in my opinion, the hottest Avril has ever looked. And that is a hell of a statement, 'cos she's fucking FINE almost every other time (her time spent in that nuclear fall-out bunker in the first picture not included). www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzb75m8NuMQ&ob=av2eGood GAWD.

That middle picture I posted above is it for me. I know she's queen of the posers, but man, can she rock the punk look.

Well since this is my appreciation thread (What the hell right?). I don't think I am going to go easy on this comment. this means memes this means videos and this means formatting! Daria is something I stumbled upon around 6 years ago. Recently the world of day time television while doing essay work has reintroduced this sarcastic pleasure into my life. So likewise - I did a little research to find out that it was spawned from the Mike Judd team! King of the Hill and Beavis & Butthead. First I thought - Whut? Daria's better. So I thought I would give it a chance - got myself the collections of Daria + Beavis and Butthead. I got a spare Daria and Curmudgeon had dibs. No biggie. These past few animated weeks though - been ACE. I have had more "dillweed" & "fart knocker" words in my life lately than EVER before and I can't say i'm that bothered. I mean by the end of it your wondering if your sane or are beavis + butthead just misunderstood. *slaps face* NO! Daria is in my opinion the best thing to come out of this teams mind. I do like both b+b and king of the hill but Daria, I suppose I like sarcasm. I can genuinely say this is better than any chaff thrown out these days like Family G(a)y and American (B)ad. But thats moi. So.
Avril. You are so thoughtful curmudgeon. Ta. Thanks. Cheers. Salutations. Keep your friends close and fight fire with... OMG LOOKNICOLA ROBERTS! Cheryl Cole! Nadine Coyle! Sarah Harding! Kimberly Walsh Curmudgeon has a point though TCM. Hot was ACE and avril looked awesome at 47 seconds. I err ... i'd smash that. but then you posted those pictures. Jeese just gimmie avril no questions asked whenever. I'd be happy aha. Thanks for the photo's people I appreciate it! Chow for now. I leave you with this... This. THIS. Shall be, my next topic of discussion here.

Pretty epic response there. That B&B pic is funny. There actually were multiple bands who got their big break after receiving a thumbs up from Beavis and Butthead during their video commentary segments (White Zombie being one), so they really were into big bands back when they were obscure. Daria was more King of the Hill-ish, and the shift in tone really surprised me at the time. One of the more underestimated and unexpected spin-offs out there for sure.
