So I was away at the weekend which meant I missed the vomit inducing idiocy and hypocrisy of the Queen's Jubilee (a sample quote from a newspaper; "she has always tirelessly been devoted to her people" - WHAT???) But thought I'd share the same video I did with Facebook that cost me three "friends" who deleted me after playing it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7qyxcSifIsRepeat after me Fuck queen and country Repeat after me Death sentence heritage Repeat after me Death camp palaceBesides, if there was ever one monarch I'd celebrate, it'd have to be this one;

Bitchin' tune. So is this a common thing in Britain, dogging the monarchy? Over here we assume you guys are all madly in love with The Queen and will stab a motherfucker in the face with a broken bottle for disrespecting her. Didn't something like that actually happen to Johnny Rotten? And if talking sensibly about the archaic window-dressing of your government is common, has it always been that way or is it in response to the tough economic times? I'd fucking LOVE for people the world over to start thinking seriously about what our governments are up to in terms of waste and abuse of the public, so this could be a very good sign if Britain is ready to go full "fuck you" on the monarchy.

It's complicated. In certain parts of Scotland, morons pretend to like the Queen if they support Rangers, for reasons too boring to go into, and the typical slogan is "Fuck the Pope." Celtic, who are traditionally Catholics, have a comeback of "Fuck the Queen". So if you ever watch a video based in Scotland and see "FTP" or "FTQ" in the background, now you know what it means. And now you're only a fraction into the ugly, ugly face of Scottish football. It sounds a bit clear cut, but it really does depend what "circles" you find yourself in whether the monarchy are to be celebrated or not. Put it this way, the few people I know on Facebook who weren't going by their football, sorry, "religious" preference who still supported the Jubilee were this; So, no. A huge number of people, who don't consider themselves "anarchists" or revolutionary's or whatever, certainly do NOT support the Queen. I guess it's the same when the common conception of American's is that they're all flag waving, "God Bless America, if you don't love it leave it" zealots.

Rest assured there are a shit ton of those zealots, though. In some places (the South and Midwest mostly), that would even be the norm. So, are you saying that politics and religion are actually tied into sports over there? Holy shit. Sports here is a religion unto itself, but it's one entirely separate from non-sports religion and politics.

Oh man, football in Scotland is FUCKED UP. Seriously. If you're out at night and some random guy asks "are you a Catholic or a Protestant?" it actually means "do you support Celtic or Rangers?" It's a 50/50 chance you're going to walk away from that one without a fight. Thankfully, saying, "nothing, I don't even like football. Do you like wrestling?" puts them off a bit.
I'm no expert because I fucking detest it (and the bigotry, ignorance and pointless hatred makes me hate it even more) but in every pub in Scotland you're not allowed to wear a football shirt (or "football colours") because it would start a fight. You get legit ARRESTED and banned for life for singing certain sectarian songs at football games. It's become such a problem that the government and police are trying everything they can to wipe it out, but it won't happen.
Pathetic, really.

Sounds like Green Street Hooligans sold the insanity a little short, even. Fucking sports, man. It's social suicide to speak against the real life violence caused by sports, but the media can suggest banning video games for portraying fictional violence, and politicians can even run for office on that platform. 'Kay, then. We have some very heated sports fanships here, but absolutely nothing like what Europe is swinging. They stopped showing Raiders games in bars in SinCal because their fans are known for ganglike behavior up to and including the occasional beatdown, but that's about it.
