Anyway, the participants in this feud? Bloodsucking, charmless, vile parasite Perez Hilton and the really rather lovely Azealia Banks.

Now, you would think with THAT build up I'd obviously be on Azealia's side with whatever "beef" the two had. But.. I dunno. I don't think I am. At least.. hmmm.. I dunno.

Now, I get her point and everything, but it's pretty much accepted that "faggot" is a slur term for a homosexual. I've NEVER known it to be for "guys who act like girls." Like, EVER. Never heard that one.

And throwing the term "faggot" around is one thing, but to call it to a known GAY guy as an insult? How the fuck did she THINK that was going to be taken?

And as soon as you start having to explain what you meant you already look in the wrong and Perez can sit on his moral high horse and claim victory, while Banks is called a homophobe. I think she was doing pretty well calling him a bottom feeder, 'cos thats exactly what he is. But I think she messed up dropping the F bomb there.

God, I think you are in the wrong for making me read that vapid bullshit, C. They are both pathetic for letting any exchange devolve to such childish insults, but yeah, calling a homosexual male a faggot is like a white dude calling a black person a nigger. It's always out of line. It's true that the term "faggot" (like nigger) has evolved culturally to an extent and is often acceptable (but never polite) in other usages as a joke among friends, and she is not entirely wrong that it can be used to emasculate a STRAIGHT man, but Miss Banks lost any high ground she might have had the minute she reacted with hate-speech towards a group that is currently basking in the protection of a political correctness veil.

"Faggot" has evolved from a homosexual slur into a term used to emasculate any male person. It's basically a harsher version of "sissy," "wuss," "pansy," "pussy" or any other such term. That said, it's not something you say around an openly gay person much less something you call a homosexual. I think it's funny that she brought up "nigger" because I see the two terms as very similar- and neither is acceptable unless you're among good friends. Even then, outsiders who overhear you using it are probably going to be offended.
