And so it came to be that this Xbox soldier of over a decade returned to the loving embrace of his old friend Sony. Having exhausted the possibilities of the Xbox 360, I snapped up the offer of a 500 GB PS3 slim with GTA5 for a mere $270 rather than anticipate the lackluster upcoming consoles at $400-$500. I was annoyed to find that no HDMI cable was included -making the graphics an eyesore- but no fear, Amazon has those puppies for $3 apiece to oppose to the exorbitant prices featured at most physical stores.
I can't wait to see what this puppy can do once I bring it's full HD power to bear. I've never watched a film on blu-ray before, so I'm looking forward to that as well as the glut of killer games I've been missing out on that are now laid out before me. The hardware is light, svelte, and silent compared to the 360 and it doesn't even have that bulky dust magnet power brick. Very nice piece of tech in addition to its game library. It's a new world, people, and I'm ready to play in it.

Welcome to the family, Trash. I still have barely scraped what the PS3 has to offer, so I'm going to be snapping up all kinds of reduced priced bargains once the PS4 comes out.
Blu Ray is an odd one, though. I've bought a fair few, and some are hard to find the major differences in quality, but some look remarkable.
You've got all kinds of gaming goodness awaiting you now, though.

My dance card is quite full. It's all GTA right now and the amitious-looking online portion of that one is launching in a few days (although Rockstar is promising it will be "buggy" at first, which is a really bad sign). Arkham Origins is hitting at the end of next month and I've already got Heavy Rain: Director's Cut waiting in the wings as well as a pre-order of the Final Fantasy X/X-2 remasters which are either coming out in the middle of next month, at the end of the year, or not until February depending on the source. I wouldn't mind it being pushed back so much since there's so much else on my plate. The Last of Us is stealing Bioshock Infinite's Game of the Year thunder so I for sure have to get that one, I need to get some Valkyria Chronicles in there too, and one of my Unreality compatriots threatened me with death if I don't play Journey (which is a short downloadable game so that shouldn't be an issue) so lots of gaming delights await me in coming months.

Shit man, you must spend a sizable chunk of change on video games.
Let me know what you think of Heavy Rain. That's one I had my eye on but didn't know if it'd be my thing or not. Heard nothing but good things, though.

I actually spend most of my disposable income on games these days. I get a few hundred bucks as a profit-sharing bonus at work every quarter and it's usually earmarked for games. I tend to go for really good deals, though, so I stretch those checks pretty far.
GTA Online is supposed to be happening right now, but the servers are all fucked up so nobody can actually play it. It lets you go in and create your character, but once you finish and try to start playing, it times out, drops you, and doesn't even save your character. Fuck, they pushed it back 2 weeks after the game's release -presumably to get this shit ready to go- and it still doesn't work. "Buggy" is not the same thing as "unplayable". And on my last day off too. Fuck my life.
