Oh, you got me there, Trashy. I thought you were going to miss out the music scene from American Horror Story there, but you put it in at the end. Great job. If I'm not mistaken, didn't Buffy start all this "random singing episode in otherwise standard TV show" thing? I remember an episode of House had one, and even Grey's Anatomy.
As boring and limiting a character as Superman can be, he does, in the right hands, have some amazing off-shoots on the character himself, even if the ones I've read from the actual DC line (Superboy and Steel) are pretty awful. I'd actually read the Sentry stuff, which I thought was great. I wasn't a big fan of the parody at first, thinking it was a bit of a cheap way to bring in a new character, but it really worked out well. Haven't heard of the rest of them, though. The Star sounds great.
I can't believe the Avatar anime started off on Nickelodeon. I've never seen it, or the doomed "trilogy" of movies, but I've always just associated Nickelodeon with, well, Spongebob Squarepants. The things you learn.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is a definite contender for best American animated show ever. It's damn near perfect and I can't imagine anyone not enjoying it. I haven't seen the film, nor have I ever met or heard tale of a single soul who didn't absolutely loathe it so I'm in no hurry there.
