So a games shop in town was having a January sale, and for once this was something actually worth looking at, not just the usual shit with big yellow discount stickers instead of red. A number of PS3 games were going at an impressively low rate. If the PS4 is to blame for this, long may it continue. Anyway, I picked up Street Fighter X Tekken (what a catchy title), expecting more of the same stuff I've played since I can even remember. And I wasn't disappointed, although this is a whole new nightmare of tag team style combo's and eye-popping visuals. Done to absolute death it may be, but it's very, very impressive. And, of course, instantly playable. Usually when I get a game I go to the PS shop to see what DLC I can bag for free. And there were some usual stuff, costume changes, move sets etc etc. But one thing instantly caught my eye. Two free downloadable character exclusive to the Playstation. One was Megaman, which when you consider how you remember Mega Man.. Doesn't exactly make you think him versus M Bison is going to look great. But they've made him semi-serious looking, still in the same outfit but well, human looking. And that second playable character? What other icon of video gaming could slot in nicely into the SFII universe as a bad-ass fighting machine? Mario? Sonic? A Tetris block? Nope, it's even dumber. Yes, that is Pac-Man, manouvering a huge wooden figure to beat people to death with. Fucking Pac-Man. He even gets his own intro story as well, and I'd imagine an ending. Pac-Man and Ryu, together at last. Blinky, Inky and Clyde better get a fucking fight, or I riot.

Quit.
Fucking.
Lying.
No way that's a real thing. Mega Man is going to give me nightmares now. At least tell me that Pac-Man has a finisher where he eats his opponent.

I fought using him twice, once against Ken and Ryu and then against M Bison and Akuma. Needless to say, I didn't get to find out. I'll let you know, though.

Well this is one of those depressing things that kind of let you know when a company have nothing left to give it's IP. Mortal Kombat did it pre reboot and so did Soul Calibur. Street Fighter R.I.P.
