So there was a prize draw at work that went on for a few months, and select people had their names in the hat. My name came up and I won one of these bad boys; So obviously more than a little bit delighted with that.. BUT..what do I do next? Yeah, I could keep it. But I've got a PS3 that, as I've said many times before, I've barely scratched the surface of, and a brand new sealed PS4 would fetch plenty bank on eBay. But six months down the line when all the new games are released and the PS3 is further relegated to history, will I really begin to regret that? What would you do?

If you were me you'd save it for a rainy day. At some point I'll want a next-gen console for sure and getting one for free would be a huge stroke of luck. I don't want one NOW, but if I won one in a drawing I'd be pleased as fucking punch, even if I didn't play it for another year (and I probably wouldn't given all the games I'm still dying to play on PS3 and 360). On the other hand, if you could sell it for almost full price now and buy another console when it drops in price you could still have your PS4 and a profit to boot. Just saying.

I'm so behind in the gaming world I'm still tapping PS2 titles. So I would sell that sucker in a heartbeat. But in your position, it's a tough call. If you figure you'll be itching for a new console sometime in the next year and a half I'd just hang on to it.

Well, we talked about it, and the money would be nice, but let's face it. It would go on bills or just get wasted on a few nights out. Having a PS4 and selling it is one thing.. buying it again? Not very likely. As soon as I got it in my hands (I wrote the original thread when I was just told I'd won it) I was like "naah.. I'm not letting this go."
So I have a PS4. Only with free game "Knack" (which is actually pretty good) and a few free downloads (a couple of dreadful FPS and the DC Universe Online thing, that takes 20 HOURS to download) so far, so the PS3 will still be getting no end of love from me.
What's encouraging to see is that the prices of the games aren't far removed from high end PS3 titles, and that will no doubt come down as the year goes on. Looks like I'm gonna be a Sony fanboy for a few years yet..
