So on America's independence day, the social justice warriors at Tumblr, having forgotten their own history, sharpened their blades to repeat it and attempt to take down the internet's premiere wretched hive of scum and villainy, 4chan for their misogynistic, racist, and homophobic posts. no, they don't understand the concept of irony.
It's actually been suggested that a 4chan member wrote this call to arms "for the lulz", inviting an attack on his own online home knowing what the outcome would inevitable be. This:
Nonetheless, Tumblr users answered the call to arms, blindly posting on boards they didn't understand like so:

How best to get back at a site known for posting the nastiest images on the net?
Yes, by all means, take down the horrible porn lords by posting porn on their site. That'll teach them to post all that porn! She EATS BABIES! 4chan could never handle her edginess! Folks, do you even know how to internet? Seriously. Anyways, needless to say, Tumblr did not give as good as they got. But they did provide some genuine lulz.
