Something weird happened on the internet this week. When the Celebrity Nude Picture Leak Scandal Thing happened, there was at first a rush of celebratory memes and gifs (Michael Scott from the Office telling a rushing crowd not to panic, Quagmire emerging from his house bleary eyed with a huge, muscular right arm)..basically, holy shit, unbelievably hot women have naked pics. Awesome.
Then it turned into something else. It became An Issue. The privacy of these women had been breached and we were sick perverts for looking. It became a moral high ground, and I even read David Brent like comments from guys who didn't click on the links because a) they didn't believe in objectifying women and b) if they want to see naked women they've got girlfriends. Burn.
So where do you stand in all of this? For me,'yeah it sucks for the girls involved that obviously private photographs are now being seen by everyone, but did I look? At pictures of Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton? Naked? What do you fucking think?
The pictures are there. They're not going away. I don't know them personally and I think they're unbelievably attractive. Of course I'm going to click that link. Did you?

Congrats on being a violent fiction-obsessed rapist, bro. www.thefrisky.com/2014-09-02/on-the-fappening-4chans-violent-attitude-towards-women/Gotta love modern feminism. "Your sexuality is only okay when I SAY it's okay! Any other time it's rape. Even if you're just thinking sexual thoughts." I have not clicked on any links because A)something like this is a perfect opportunity for hackers to spread viruses and other shit far and wide using this stuff as bait, B) the internet is fucking full of more naked gorgeous women than I could ever see, and C) it is kind of fucked up. Not that I'm all torn up about it. Anyone who takes pictures of themselves or anyone they love on a device connected to the internet is taking that risk and they know it. Even the Polaroid/VHS age is littered with stories of children finding parents' naughty stashes and wives finding their husband's old sex tapes. If you record something, odds are somebody is going to see it at some point. That was the idea. And we are not as in control of how shit goes down as we like to think. I saw a few pics on 4chan last night. Other than a particularly nice one of America's sweetheart (who I personally find rather bland) Jennifer Lawrence, I wasn't super impressed. People there are proxying up and joking about the FBI shutting the entire site down and posting links to the full photo stash and reporting that those links are being monitored by the FBI and it's hard to tell who is trolling and who isn't. If the pictures are in front of me, I'll look, but I'm not actively seeking them. There are a lot of sexy women on the web who want me to see them naked and have much better content if that's what I'm in the mood for. I reckon they are more worthy of my time.
