Only two weeks left (where DOES the time go?) and last weeks "No Rain" was a bit of a cult hit by a sadly forgotten band that was probably more of a hit in the US than in the UK. This week, something unmistakably British, a huge hit in the UK but I just can't see this performing well in the UK at all. You know how you don't know how well something would "translate? Elsewhere. That's kinda this. The hits may have dried up for this band, although the released a well received new record last year, but the singer was back in the public eye for all the wrong reasons a few years ago. Always an eccentric, such a wonderfully British trait, (he's actually been diagnosed as Bipolar since he was 21)' he walked into a pub a few years back and was ridiculed for his outfit. He stormed out and then came back with a gun that he threatened people with. It was a starters pistol for a race. Biggie and Tupac this was not. Adam and the Ants were a key figure in British music in the 80's, back when British pop had it's own identity and personality. Changed, changed days. Falls from grace (and admiral comebacks) aside, we're here for the music, so let's hear it. This is Stand and Deliver. youtu.be/4B2a6l6wM2k

One of those punk/new-wave crossover artists like Siouxsie Sioux who are household names but not many people in America have actually listened to their music. I know I haven't. But as far as 80's music goes, this sounds pretty classic to me.
