I knew it wouldn't take long for the punk bug to bite me this time, but I'd been planning something else all week while already procrastinating on my post. But I woke up this morning with one song inexplicably in my head and i figured I'd better roll with it. My pick: This one is from your side of the pond; Manchester's own, the Buzzcocks. it won't take a genius to connect their sound with the Ramones, but their pop hooks, frontman Pete-Shelly's distinctive reedy delivery, and now-standard "ooooooh-oooh" backing vocals put them in a different class. This is one of my favorite tunes of there's; not as well known as What Do I Get? but worthy of equal standing.

Very nice. It's weird, I love that authentic melodic punk sound but found it really fucking grating and an instant turn-off when a billion new bands started to try and sound like this a few years ago.
I'd never heard this, and I think they're easily more famous for "Ever Fall in Love With Someone" over here. Not to mention they (and the Pistols) are the basis of a UK music show "Never Mind the Buzzcocks" that's been on TV for about twenty years.
Yes. We like this one a lot. Moar.

You're in luck. I'm planning on quite a bit of punk showing up before I'm done.
