If you've been on any kind of social media/message board over the last few days, you may have heard of the video circulating of a white girl and her little brother being viciously attacked by a girl as her friends shouted encouragement from the side. It's an ugly, horrible thing to watch, made all the more uncomfortable by the fact it's a white girl being attacked in a black neighbourhood. You can guess how that went down.

It's the consequences of the video I actually want to talk about. The link there wasn't the original source I saw the video, and among the fucking horrific racist comments I read on there, something else happened. Someone shared her Youtube account, her e-mail address, her Facebook account, her phone number, her boyfriends number and her entire name and address.

The comments then changed from racist hatred to genuine threats. "We're going nigger hunting" etc etc. You know the sort of thing.

Now, in no way am I defending the attacker. She's a piece of shit who not only beat the snot out of a girl who didn't even try to defend herself and actually begged her to stop, she actually chased after the girl after the first fight was over and attacked her again, and even punched the 5 year old brother in the face when he tried to help his sister. Disgusting vermin.

But how quickly can this sort of thing spread to a whole new level when personal details start getting put on the internet? If you know the person, report them to the police. With the racial tension in the world right now, getting a bunch of racists riled up online can only lead to bad things if one of them actually stepped out from behind the keyboard.

I'm sure 95% of the death threats this girl got will lead to nothing. But all it takes is a group of drunk guys who live nearby with a grudge and a reason to go over there and start something way more serious than what happened in that park.

Is normal. Rest (mostly) assured that 100% of these death threats will lead to nothing. Threats of violence is what the internet is made of. But most people spending their time on the internet acting like dicks are the last people in the world out there doing anything. What idiots need to do is stop posting videos of themselves doing horrible shit. I mean, what the fuck are people thinking?

There's been a dox war going on in the gaming community for a while now with losers threatening to kill women in the gaming industry and the "SJWs" doing it back and round and round for the better part of a year now. But not one person has been harmed. This is a little different because there's actual violence involved and harm to a child, but odds are it'll be fine. But hey, at least in this instance the target deserves the negative attention. I won't cry for a violent child-beater of any race, gender, or nationality.

I've seen the same level of shit leveled at other people who deserve it a whole lot less. I don't condone it and frankly find it pretty sad and more than a little frightening, as you do, Curmudgeon, but Trashcanman's right to point out that at least in this case, the target actually did something worthy of ridicule if not necessarily death threats.

Thought I'd bring this thread back because of the latest batch of "HANG DA BITCH!1" outrage over yet another online video.

The UK, this time. A young teenage girl is seen being bullied by a couple of other teenagers, who force her to get on her knees and beg. I won't share the video (more on that later) but you get the idea. It was recorded on a mobile phone. It went viral. Facebook exploded.

You could almost hear Ron Burgundy comment on how it escalated quickly; the video was shared through social media, soon it had millions of views and thousands of angry comments demanding justice. The bully's mother even went on Facebook and Twitter to address the whole thing, saying that her daughter had been arrested and can we please all let them deal with it? Huh. Nope.

So the girl's real name and address were shared on the internet, and the idiot bully even closed down her Facebook page after receiving death threats but then opened up another one to share some kind of gloating "I'm famous, haters gonna hate" kind of thing which sent the internet into meltdown. That has since been deleted.

So the police have urged people NOT to share the video anymore and NOT to mention her by name as it may harm the charging process. Too late. the whole family had to flee their home as angry mobs went to the door and sprayed "SCUM" on it. The whole family is now in hiding.

The girl is a piece of shit, no doubt, but I honestly believe if that mob had found her they may well have killed her. This is just one in a long, long line of "SHARE IF U KNOW WHO THIS PERSON IS" kind of viral video that is everywhere now, even for things like "I saw this man beat his dog" to "I saw a suspicious group of Muslim men buying children's clothes" (that was a few days ago).

The smartphone is now the courtroom, and the internet is now seemingly judge, jury and executioner.

If anyone still wonders why I want no part of Facebook, Twitter, and the like, shit like this is why. The larger any given group of people is, the more prone to hivemind insanity it is. And now the entire fucking world is one big mob thanks to social media. To quote Ronnie James Dio , "if you listen to fools, the mob rules", and we're all listening.
