According to the article I just read, only 200 people showed up to the Liverpool audition for the latest installment of the X Factor. I don't pay attention to this reality shit, so I was surprised to read that. I just assumed we were doomed to suffer these shows forever. Perhaps the Curmudgeon has some insider info on why the X Factor is breathing its death rattle? Article: www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/industry_news/less_than_200_people_show_up_to_x-factor_auditions.htmlAll I have to say is "good riddance." Maybe we can do in American Idol next.

Nice if it were true, but I'll believe it when I see it. Britain't Got Talent got the highest ratings of the fucking YEAR last week, so I wouldn't buy flowers for the funeral just yet.

I don't get how people could stay excited about this shit for so many years. Is it people who don't listen to music so hearing shitty cover versions of songs they vaguely know exist their only outlet or what? At least The Voice has the drama between coaches to keep it a little interesting, but Idol and X Factor are just flat out dull.

I've never seen the American version of the Voice, but the UK version is so cloyingly NICE. At least in the X Factor you have Simon Cowell giving withering and cruel (read: truthful) comments to the crying idiots on display, but EVERYONE on the Voice was "amazing." Even the fuckers who don't get through. X Factor is shit, but the Voice is just un-watchable.
And as 2013's winner is dropped from her record label, the same as 2012's and 2011's, I find it amazing people still invest SO heavily into this program. I just.. I don't get it.
