As I mentioned on Trashy's earlier post about Uwe Boll, some people should just just not be allowed online. Uwe Boll is one, Havok is another.
No, Havok isn't someone from Mortal Kombat (although I'm almost certain there was someone by that name in there somewhere), but the ring name of former TNA wrestler and WWE wannabe Jessica Cricks.
Hang on, I'm almost certain she was in Mortal Kombat.
Anyway, Havok recently left TNA with the idea of joining WWE. All seemed good; she received a try-out, she had a good look, decent in the ring, her boyfriend was already with the company.. what could go wrong?
How about this?
And that's just one of them. Telling a gay guy he's #aidsinfected? Did that. Saying a black wrestler is angry because he "lost his watermelon?" Did that too. Saying she's in KFC "channeling her inner nigger?" Oh yeah.
Her defense was that, come ON, those Tweets were from about three years ago. And it was a JOKE. Gawd.
“I want to apologize whole heartedly for the OLD tweets that are being brought up right now. Legit, It was years ago and i don’t even rem.tweeting over half of this stuff. The stuff i do remember was jokes that were in bad taste. I was young and very new to social media promo and i was very immature and just said things to make my friends laugh at the time. Inside jokes between us. I don’t really feel or believe any of the things i DID actually tweet. I am a loving, compassionate person and i LOVE everyone. No mater who! I would die for any wrestling fan and i care so much about wrestling and everything in it. I would not be here without any of you. I was young, stupid & immature. I am not too proud to admit some of it was me being bitter for all the wrong reasons, but I’ve learned and grown from this .. i hope this can be forgiven. I love you guys.”
So WWE jettisoned all plans to work with her and pretty much sent her packing before she could even get a chance to sign. This has created a bit of a mixed bag of online debate; SHOULD someone be punished for "jokes" that were printed online three years ago? Should she be given a second chance and a chance to redeem herself? Or are the WWE, a company obsessed with its public image, completely justified in washing their hands of her?
