So this season of Game of Thrones ended last night (tonight in the UK, so I'm avoiding any mention of it online), and it's safe to say it's had some of the most spectacular, ambitious scenes ever filmed for TV. That coliseum fight scene? The dragons? The undead hordes? Holy shit.

So, "spectacular" and "ambitious" is one thing. The Game of Thrones musical by Coldplay is something else.

..OK, only kidding. It's actually a comedy sketch created for Comic Relief, but damn it you'll WANT it to be true.

Have you heard the Game of Thrones mixtapes? I downloaded the second one to get an awesome Anthrax song they recorded for it and what the hell is up with that? Most of it is lame, plodding hip-hop and R&B. So out of step with the mood of the show. Not that thrash metal isn't, but it's just a really weird thing to hear Snoop Dogg rapping about King Joffrey and Method Man recite the oath of the Night's Watch. Mastodon was the only band that really attempted to match the show's tone.
