Nice try, Hogan.

So if you've been on the internet at all this week you'll no doubt have heard that everyone's favourite orange skinned goblin Hulk Hogan has been removed from WWE's existence, a move not seen since Chris Benoit, even though Hogan's behaviour wasn't exactly criminal, just more depressingly predictable. He's a big ol' racist.

A lot of sources didn't reveal exactly what was said. Here it is, from a few years back when talking about his daughter Brooke dating a black guy.

“She is making some real bad decisions now,” Hulk said on the tape. “My daughter Brooke jumped sides on me. I spent $2-3 million on her music career; I’ve done everything like a jackass for her.

“I don’t know if Brooke was fucking the black guy’s son,” Hulk said regarding a black music producer who offered to fund Brooke’s music career. “I mean, I don’t have double standards. I mean, I am a racist, to a point, fucking niggers. But then when it comes to nice people and shit, and whatever.”

“I mean, I’d rather, if she was going to fuck some nigger, I’d rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall nigger worth $100 million! Like a basketball player! I guess we’re all a little racist. Fucking nigger.”



Not exactly "eat your vitamins and say your prayers."

So WWE fired him before the story went public, removing him from their website entirely as if he never even existed, and released a statement basically wiping their hands of him and the whole affair.

This is where it gets a little more interesting, and I thought I'd bring you in on the face-palm worthy argument that Hogan started. Basically, "Hey, Vince McMahon said it first!" He was "outraged" at the hypocrisy of the WWE for firing him because Vinny Mac had dropped the dreaded N-bomb about ten years ago.

So, maybe I'm missing the point, but there's surely a world of difference between an obvious satire of out of touch middle aged white guys throwing hood speak around to the "cool" kids for the purpose of TV and a blatant and an unrepentant racist conversation. Not according to some people, including TMZ, who seem to think Vince is an outright hypocrite and just as bad as Hogan, but he won't be punished because, y'know, it's his company so his rules.

So where do you stand on this? Do you agree with the Hulkster and half of the internet that Vince is just as bad, or is Hogan desperately clutching at straws?

McMahon's was cringe-inducing, but I'm pretty sure it was meant to be. Hogan's was just mean. But the thing is, Hogan's was a private conversation illegally obtained and distributed by some fuckrag celeb gossip site, and they only released this transcript of his tirade in retribution for the lawsuit he's bringing down on them for stealing his private sextape. Not defending what he's saying in any way, shape, or form because that shit is indefensible, but it is kind of messed up that he loses his career over it while Donald goddamn motherfucking Trump is a frontrunner for next president of the United States after publicly saying this as part of his campaign speech:

The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems. … When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.

How is drugs, crime, and rape everybody else's problems? Seems pretty universal. Also, if drugs and rape are that much of a concern to him, his first act as President should be to raze our colleges to the ground. You know, the places full of affluent white kids where more of that shit is done than anywhere else? The part where he "assumes" (because it's not a fact like the "they're all rapists" thing, he's just being nice) is arguably the most insane part of that impossibly racist statement. This motherfucker spent the last 8 years screeching that Obama was born outside of the US without a single slice of evidence after his birth certificate was presented and inspected publicly and repeatedly and the goddamn governor of the state he was born in (who's a family friend) said he was present at his birth.

Anyways, so as much of a piece of shit as Hogan is in his bedroom, I'm a lot more concerned about what's going on publicly in places where that shit might actually matter.

You know, I never really thought it about that way. Hogan's WAS a private conversation that wasn't supposed to be made public, and you are literally the only person I've heard bring that up. I talk to assholes in the pub that say worse shit than Hogan did, and you just shrug it off and move on, but those conversations aren't getting taped and played for the world to judge you on. Not excusing what he said, but we do all seem to have missed a major point there.

The Donald Trump stuff is honestly like something from some arch sitcom. Like, there's no way someone in some position of power and influence actually said those words and stood by them, right? Like, that's Charlie Brooker or Chris Morris in disguise, surely?

The fact that not only did he get away with it and seemingly brushed off any controversy and fire, but it doesn't seem to have done him any harm whatsoever. Just.. wow.
