Yeah, OK, that was terrible. I'm tired, alright? Today's lesson: never under-estimate the power of a joke. On April the 1st last year someone put this on discussion boards. And a large portion of the internet lost its collective shit. But, nope, it was just an April Fools joke. L. O. L. But someone, somewhere was obviously noticing the massive reaction it generated (not to mention the huge campaign for a sequel to the excellent movie), because guess what? Netflix ARE bringing Judge Dredd to their channel in a 13 episode series. No jokes. No bluffs. Actually really happening. Obviously I'd be down for a direct sequel to the film, but in today's climate where TV is pretty much the best platform for this sort of thing, I'm actually more excited for a TV series. If they keep the look and tone of the first movie (well, not the first, FIRST movie obviously) there's way more scope to fully explore the 2000 AD world than a movie could pack into an hour and a half. So the Cursed Earth, Judge Death.. there could be a lot to go in there. With Daredevil and Jessica Jones both knocking it out of the park (and more to come from that universe), and now Judge Dredd.. damn, Netflix. Give other channels a chance.

Yeah, NF officially has no peers in the quality original programming category. Sorry, HBO.

So what's your verdict on Jessica Jones, Trash? I'm almost finished the season and it's superb. I know zero about the original character, know a bit about Luke Cage. I like the idea of one central villain, and at this point David Tennant, excellently creepy and evil, seems damn near unstoppable so far.

Brilliant show. Even better than Daredevil. The Purple Man is a great fucking villain. A little disappointed by how it ended up, but I'm loving this trend of villains who don't know they're villains. That's a true sociopath: somebody who is so far up their own ass that they are literally incapable of seeing that what they are doing is horrible because it's not happening to them personally. Evil for evil's sake is boring now.
