No spoilers going forward, please.
Gotta admit, I'm disappointed so far.
It's telling that we, Mrs C and I, really weren't feeling the latest installment of AHS because the series has sat on our Sky planner for months with only the first episode watched. And that's surprising given how much we have loved almost all of the series (with the exception of the fairly weak "Coven").
With this series there just seems to be no suspense or build up. Shit's only scary if it's relatable and believable, or at least gradually builds up over time. In the first hour we've seen vampires, ghosts, anal rape with a spike.. fuck. Where do you from there? The whole episode just played out like a Marilyn Manson video.
The second episode built the story up a little better, and the cast are all good. Kathy Bates is as reliable and great as ever, Chloe Sevigny brings her tightly wound mother from Big Love to the show and Lady Gaga may well be the fucking sexiest creature alive.
I'm obviously going to watch it till the end, but for anyone who's seen the full series, does it live up to the previous highs of Asylum and Freakshow?

She is something else, isn't she? She's not traditionally beautiful but there is just something about her, and she's got a body to die for. I could spend a hundred years rolling around with that.

Yeah, she's something. Unfortunately, when that's the only good thing you have to say about an entire season of a television show known for its insane creativity and twisted entertainment value then it's a bad scene, man.

Oh. So when "that is all" really IS that is all.. fuck. Yeah, I knew I wasn't feeling it this season.

It doesn't get better, no. Had its moments, but unless you're super into transgender rights (and they're late to that party) and bisexual sex scenes there's not much of interest there. Who knew AHS's take on vampires could be so boring? You're much better off getting onboard the Scream Queens bandwagon.
