They always say "never go back." Revisiting old glories never pays off, that leaving them wanting more is always the best way and to finish on a high.
Well, the X-Files didn't do that in the first place, going on until Duchovny wanted more money and ended up being replaced (and the TV world just gave that a mighty NOPE), so in truth, we really could all have left the X-Files where it was.
And yet.. I'm only one episode in (the second was on last night) and hey, it's good to have them back, if only for a six episode run. I can't see this 6 episode arc wrap everything up, and if the response and (more importantly) the ratings are anything to go by, there's going to be more from Mulder and Scully in the future.
We're currently re-watching the entire series again on Netflix, so it's a bit of a jump from the fresh faced poster boy looks of David from 20 years ago to David now, but he's still rocking it, and Gillian Anderson is as effortlessly sexy as ever. The first episode was a nice nod to the onslaught of "conspiracy" theories on Youtube (but do these kooks really make millions of dollars from dissecting 9/11 footage?) and the effects are superb.
Long may the truth be out there.

Surprisingly a show I never got into. I watches an episode here and there, but it just never grabbed me for some reason.

Wow, that does surprise me. I thought this would have been totally your show back in the day, Trash. The older episodes have all aged surprisingly well, for what its worth, except for anything that deals with computers etc obviously. The instant chemistry between Mulder and Scully is something that so many TV shows have tried to emulate since with ever diminishing returns. If you're ever in need of a lengthy TV addiction, X-Files should be your next stop.
