The Curmudgeon has always been, and will likely always be, a solo gamer. Not for me the giddy thrills of having your sexuality questioned by a 12 year old, or be told about some stranger's sexual encounters with your mother as you get blown to pieces on Call of Duty. Call me old fashioned, not my bag. But if you thought that shit was bad before, when all you had to argue about was who is better at the game you're playing, imagine, just fucking IMAGINE, the chaos when rival console owners come on board. Cos it's happening. www.theverge.com/2016/3/14/11222370/microsoft-xbox-cross-network-play-pc-ps4-gamingIn a few years time we'll all be thinking fondly back to more simple times when that 10 year old kid called you a faggot for sucking at Halo.

I'm pretty hyped for this myself since all of my MP buddies are still Xbots and I jumped ship to Sony this gen so nobody to play with. Actually, nobody seems to ever play with mics anymore. I kind of miss it. I always enjoyed the trash talk and spontaneous weird conversations that would erupt in any given game. Plus, actual cheering during fighting game matches was the best. Now it's just dead silence all of the time. Boring. And I think the console wars may actually be over. Microsoft seems willing to play nice with Sony. attackofthefanboy.com/news/xbox-head-phil-spencer-praises-uncharted-4-calls-console-fanboys/Some people are a little slow on the uptake, though.
