You'd think it would be fairly easy to write a wrestling feud. Two guys/girls/teams fight over titles or to see who the Better Man Is. Obviously it goes further than that, with personal blood feuds and backstage assaults and attacks that would see most people arrested, but here goes towards wanting to get you to tune in next week, keep on watching or order the PPV to find out who wins in the end.
Take, say, HHH vs Randy Orton from a few years back.
You don't even need to know the story here to get what's happening. That villainous Randy Orton handcuffed HHH to the ring ropes, knocked out his wife Stephanie and then kissed her unconscious body in front of him! That bastard! Why, I hope HHH rips him apart. I'm going to go order the Wrestlemania PPV to see it happen live.
That's the target WWE mentality, I'd imagine. And hey, it works.
But over in TNA, this is their build up video for Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy. Backstory first if you need it (I don't watch this shit, for what it's worth). Matt Hardy turned on Jeff because he went maaaaaaad. That is pretty much all you need to know.
This video has gone viral for all the wrong reasons. Feast your eyes on this shit, and keep in mind this is their money feud for their biggest show of the year. This has gone somewhat viral over the last week for all the wrong reasons.
