"Something with POISON in it, I think..."
Remember a few weeks back where I talked about being part of a Prince fan page on Facebook? This has to do with that (nothing to do with Prince, though, so it's not in the music bit). I had joined another page and it was depressingly similar and familiar to the other ones. Picture after picture of Prince, followed by crying emoji's, love hearts and the usual "I miss him sooo much" bleating.
This one upped the suck though by being so fucking nauseatingly NICE. This is the sort of thing on there.
I want to take a minute and thank each and everyone of you for making Sherry Hochfelder group/family the best. I'm so proud to say that I'm apart of this family. We all have things going on in our lives. The world seems to be going crazy. I come in here and for a little while I forget. I forget about my chronic pain and problems. Yesterday I posted a picture of Prince telling you to have a good day. I had no idea I would get the likes or the comments I received. I made sure that every person that commented I sent a smiley face or a heart. I do that because I want you to know I'm thankful you took the time to comment or like my post. I would have already lost my mind if I had to deal with what our Purple sister Patrice Files is dealing with. Patrice is still giving out Prince presents(its what I call them)😁 She wants to give because of the love she has for Prince.Sherry brought all of us together for her love of Prince. I think our love for Prince makes us Family not a group. Sorry so long. I hope you have a wonderful day.
What's odd that, in a group dedicated to talking about Prince, no-one talks about his music. Like, no "what's your favourite b-side" or "what's the best/worst single" or whatever. Just pictures, love hearts and this sort of flowery shit.
Clearly, friends, this page had to die.
So that person who left that message above was one of two admins of the page. She started a thread asking for "prayers" from us all, because she was in pain that day. I made a casual, flippant remark along the lines of "please give me attention, guys. I really need some attention right about now." And she went NUTS.
I don't have a link to the original comment (the thread got deleted and I got banned), but do you remember that viral "what the fuck did you just fucking say about me" text? It was like that, but with a more shrill voice. Basically I didn't know her, I was a piece of shit and I could go to HELL!!
So I continued to goad her into an argument, and this caught the attention of a few other people and so it went on, until she banned me from the group. Later that night, though, the OTHER admin contacted me and tried to reach a resolution. So I was super nice and charming, and completely shocked by what had happened and that I would NEVER knowingly offend anyone etc etc. In short, she unbanned me, and I was back in.
And that's when things get funny. The first girl, who previously had this exchange with the other admin..

Yeah, she upped and quit the group, enraged that I was allowed back in. That was four days ago, and she's still not speaking to anyone else, except to bitch and complain about the admin who let me in, so much so that the entire group has split into a kind of Civil War, where it's all hilarious sniping and gossiping and taking sides, all while I have private chats with the admin, wide-eyed and innocent and gently stirring the hatred. The admin who likes me is now saying she's getting ready to delete the page because it's went to shit and she doesn't understand why.
All in all, not bad for a day's work, eh?
