So this was an unexpected treat; I found, buried at the bottom of some list on Amazon Prime, a multi-part horror documentary presented by Christopher Lee. 100 Years of Horror. It's a fairly low budget affair made in the mid-90's, so the CGI intro looks as old as the movies they begin the show talking about. But it's surprisingly in-depth, going into great detail about the horror standards (the Universal series, the Hammer series) and some real obscure gems that I'd never even heard of. Every week is a different theme, some of the major players get two weeks dedicated to them, but it goes from vampires, werewolves and ghosts to the likes of mad scientists, zombies and giant creatures. Lee himself is reliably great, talking with passion about a lot of the films in question, and giving bone dry comments like "I was only in one werewolf picture... the Howling Part 2, which.. the least said about that the better." So if you're looking for a fairly meaty horror project to get involved with, 100 Years of Horror is about twenty episodes long and well worth a look. Hunt it down.

Netflix has a single disc documentary version with the cover you posted from 1996 and a full season five-disc set from 2006. I'm assuming the set is the one you're talking about. Seems like a great find and I don't know how I've never heard of this.

I don't think UK Netflix has it, but I did a bit of digging and found the exact running list of 26 episodes. thetvdb.com/?tab=seasonall&id=84092Remember, it's fairly cheap and cheerful, and I'm not sure who ever aired it originally, but it's definitely worth your time. The episodes have a fairly straight forward order; they start by introducing the monster, look back at its very early origins, look at the classic examples, look at weird, terrible spin-offs, sequels, foreign versions and usually end with a look at the modern day equivalent (it was made in the mid-90's, so I think the most recent it goes is the Jack Nicholson "Wolf" movie).
