It's been done tongue and cheek (and for more hilarity put "John Smeaton" into wikipedia and see the "discussion" section for all the vandalism that the more famous namesake has been going through!!)... it's quite witty. I think the lad did well anyway.

Hmmmmmm. Yeah, he did, but I just think this braggard attitude that the media has now taken towards this whole failed Glasgow Airport attack is pretty foolish.
I mean, really, the headline from one columist was "I feel like looking them in the eyes and asking, is that the best you've got?"
Is it just me that finds that attitude deeply, deeply irresponsible? These men were willing to DIE for their cause, and no amount of "we'll set about you" horseshit will prevent others from getting riled up reading that crap. These aren't some far off terrorists from Iraq - they're IN Britain, reading and digesting this stuff. Flicking the finger at them and flexing your muscles seems pretty stupid to me.

If you set me up with the old CW01 membership i'll use it!!
Anyway - the way I saw it, this Glasgow lad knew nothing about what was happening and went after this brawling wannabe terrorist. I know 99.9% of the population would have stood well back. So I think he's pretty damn brave and those idiots online going "Oh man who cares?" Well if things had gone to plan people would have died and having someone who would charge at somebody on your side aint such a bad thing. Pretty brave says I.
But, yeah, it was a FAILED attack and that is a good thing. Linking it to Al Queda seems remarkably folly. I doubt these people were chatting to Bin Laden the night before.
The war in Iraq though, eh? Who was it that said it would make the country more safe? Ah yes... looking at you Mr. Blair. Your attack on Iraq was also terrorism - and I, and many others, await an apology.

I just added John Smeaton to my myspace pals. You should do the same. I sense a cult phenomenon (however brief).

Have you seen who the majority of my Myspace "friends" are? Dracula, Davros, Dr Robotnik, Michael Myers... I'm trying to get all the classic villains on my "side". I can do without any have-a-go heroes, thank you very much.

Maybe these guys oughtta have a chat with Salman Rushdie about taunting maniacs of Islamic faith. Those people are sick in the head and, while kicking their asses is something we could all aspire to given the chance, the best thing to do after the stomping is done is to ignore the murderous bastards and let 'em think twice about what they are doing with their lives without giving them an incentive to try and do better next time.

Exactly my point. Yes, fight back, yes celebrate those brave enough TO fight back - but this bravado bullshit is deeply stupid.
Is someone from Glasgow going to "set about" a guy who walks into a shopping centre and blows himself up? That's the sort of people we're dealing with here - hardened fanatics who will stop at nothing in their quest to kill as many innocent people as possible. They failed this time, but let's face it - it doesn't take a brain surgeon to strap a bomb to thier chest and walk into a crowded room. It takes the sort of unwavering belief these guys have - and taunting them is just... wow. Really dumb.
