Well, it's that time of year again, Loyal Dwellers. You'll have noticed a distinct lack of any Christmas themed threads this year and that's for one simple reason. The Fortress of Solitude is supposed to be a place where we can relax and leave the stress and awfulness of the outside world. And that includes Christmas. Because I hate Christmas. Not in a "oh, but I love it really" kind of way - I am sick of the same shit that happens every year; decorations up in shops in October. The same Christmas songs year in, year out. The inevitable horseshit Christmas movie in cinema's that makes more money than films 100 times better than it. The fact people talk about how much they all hate Christmas, that its become something TV ads say we have to "spread the cost of". It's become a stressful, expensive, hateful ROUTINE that the world swallows and accepts every damn year. I hate all of it. But, but.. Spending some time with my family and my wife is always a good time, and hell - there are presents involved too. Once you cut through the shit - the repackaged, fake, money-hungry sentiment of it all - Christmas Day is all good. I'll be in the Fortress, on and off, for the rest of today and maybe a little of tomorrow, but it'll be business as usual from, say, the 27th. A few more days of 2007 then The Fortress welcomes 08. Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself. Have a good Christmas, Loyal Dwellers. We survived another year.................

Hope you had a good one, Mr. Grinch. I'm practically swimming in new DVD's a la Scrooge McDuck right about now so consider my holiday a hit. Thank God my wife does all of the shopping and decorating. She actually ENJOYS that garbage, the sicko.

I actually didn't get any DVDs this year. Did get a shit load of new games for the Wii and PS2 though, which is even better.
As for decorating, my wife does it all too. I'm not sure if she enjoys it as such (although I've got a sneaking feeling she does) but she's 100 times better than it than I am. Which suits me fine...
