Hi y'all ;D I gotta say, I'm intrigued at the concept of a "Fortress of Solitude" being advertised all round the internet. I suppose making the "What to expect" folder invisible to guests must help enahance the solitude. And the lack of the traditional "Newbie welcome" area. But apart from that, your fortress's defences appear rather threadbare. But hey, nice to meet you

Hiya. It seems Curmudgeon's Fortress is less solitary these days. Sometimes it's been a 2-3 man dialogue. Welcome!

Well, hey, nice to meet YOU, Mikado. But why the "guest" log-in? Feel free to sign up as a member, guy. That's what it's for.
See, the thing about THIS Fortress of Solitude is that its a Fortress AWAY from all the crap you find on the net and in our culture itself. See, we are aware of the brainwashed epidemic that's happening across the world, where people are being told WHAT to think, WHO to listen to, WHAT to wear - we're aware that MTV are breeding a generation of idiots obsessed with obscene wealth; where "bling" and "grills" are now part of their everyday vocabulary. We're aware that kids are growing up not able to use their own language correctly, as stupid "txt spk" rots their brains. We're aware that the biggest TV show, and the biggest pop stars, are now of the same thing. We're aware that our cherished movies are being re-made one after the other, that there is about three people with original ideas in Hollywood right now. And that is only the icing on the cake.
So, you see, The Fortress does allow the CONCEPTS of those things in, but here we do not ACCEPT it. That is the difference between here and everywhere else. Here we question the society around us, we slate and hate the Paris Hilton's of the world, and we embrace and adore and talk about REAL music, REAL films and REAL talent.
And, hey, what use is a Fortress if you don't allow any potential new soldiers in, right?

Recruitment speech over, is there really adverts for this site "all over the place"?
First I'd heard of it.

And, hey, what use is a Fortress if you don't allow any potential new soldiers in, right? Isn't it traditional to check they're not the enemy first? ;D Ok, that was maybe a tiny exaggeration ;D

Well, maybe I'm too trusting, but until someone joins and they're actually Simon Cowell in disguise, I'm willing to take the chance.
Plus, Patsy knows you, so I know you're not "the enemy". Well, maybe not too much anyway.

Isis knows him too, Mudge. We first "met" him on the other board. So, I guess you can count that as 3 recruits so far.

OK - its done. You may now see in that oh so secret of places. Except there's about three actual threads in it. It's not very exciting.
Now - will you BOTH become official members, please?
It's great - you can have your own little picture and a signature and you can send messages to people and you can improve your rankings and...
Come on - that must have sold you, surely?
