Tell you what man, it's not WHAT you know - it's WHO you know. I've been toying with ideas to get an advert for the site up on quite possibly the most popular website on the net - Youtube. I just had no idea how to do it. Step forward, my little brother-in-law. I'd seen some of his earlier videos, homages to Zelda and the like, and they were really pretty good. So I e-mailed him last night with my idea, of putting some images of the kind of stuff we're all into and my promotional blurb about the place backed with some suitable music - and the rest was all his work. Want to see it? Course you do.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_iXoGFkx4N0He got all the video clips (which I didn't think of) and did all the work, so really, my hat has to go off to him. That boy got skills, er, dawg. What do you think?

Nice, but WHERE THE FUCK IS GODZILLA?!?! He's the truest manifestation of this place in my book. Watch the ignorant masses flee! I'd suggest adding more rapid-fire clips of asskicking goodness besides just the comic book films. Jaws chowing down, Slipknot throwing down, Michael Myers nailing a motherfucker to the fridge, audio of Cyrus from "The Warriors" shouting "Caaaaaan yooooou DIGIIIIIIIT!?!?", zombie pool cue beatdown from "Shaun of the Dead", Vader owning Solo; you get the idea. That was cool but there could be so much more! Your brother-in-law is cool. I wish I had the time, patience, and know-how to do something like that.

Well, to his credit he did knock it up in only a couple of hours. Maybe a second clip can be made in the next few weeks. Meh, it's not like he has anything else to do anyway. (I hope he's reading this...!)

Give him a list of clips and promise him beer. Beer always works.

I'm not knocking his technical ability at all, but if I were to come across this trailer it would tell me it was a site for Superhero TV/Magazine geeks and I would pass it by.
This would not be a problem, of course, if it's what you're going for, but I'm presuming you would be trying to invite a slightly more diverse fanbase.

That was pretty kickass. Rage was a good music choice. I think Trashcanman brings up a few good points, though. More carnage and asskicking is needed.

I think I can chance my arm and ask him to do another in the next week or so, 'cos I think he quite enjoyed it. I'll give him some more pics and a few relevant videos. The comic books have been represented, so I'm thinking along the lines of Godzilla, TCM, Predator.. that sort of thing. But I'll leave it a few days yet.
Patsy - I see what you're saying about getting some different sorts of Dwellers in here, but if I attract a few more comic book/horror/sci-fi "nerds" that are of the same calibre of the ones already here (er, take that in the nicest way possible, guys) then I won't be complaining.
Besides - I put Simpsons and Catcher In The Rye in there. That's not exactly Spider-Man and Batman is it?
