Having never read the comic book series it was (very) loosely based on, I wasn't too desperate to see this film, in that it looked like another bog standard "pretty people making flip remarks whilst doing physically impossible things through the use of CGI" action movie.
To quote Lex Spacey: "WROOOONNNNNNG."
It comes as no surprise, first of all, that Angelina Jolie is sex personified. But it's actually surprising just HOW fucking smokingly beautiful she actually is. It's like she's impossibly, ridiculously attractive.
"Ridiculous" being a good term to start describing this film. Honestly, if you see a more preposterous, ludicrous premise and execution of a plot then you got to let me know, because this is easily the most deliberately, unashamedly STUPID film I've ever seen. Cars flip and bounce like they're made of plastic, more bullets are fired than in the 2nd World War and the basic laws of physics are thrown right out the window. And it's fucking ACE.
One of the strongest (and really most surprising) elements of this film is the actual script, weird for an action film like this. James McAvoy proves his leading man status as being a likeable guy who hates his miserable life. The opening half hour actually reads and plays like a cult indie flick than an action blockbuster, and I think we could all relate to the one man struggling to break free from the banalities of everyday life. And then when the action DOES kick in - there are things being done here that you have NEVER seen before.
In short, then? It's an absolute BLAST from start to finish. Forget reality - you want Wanted.

I've been on the fence about checking this out. I'm on vacay this week so I just may do it.

Just remember, Trashy - it's best to leave your brain in a box by the seat.

Not a problem. Don't forget: I liked "Transformers"!

Good point, although it does make Transformers look like Donnie Brasco in comparison.
