Sigh. We really just tempted fate, didn't we? All talk about how well Marvel are doing with their films and their animated projects.. and then, up from the depths, comes Iron Man: The Armoured Adventures. What's wrong with an animated Iron Man show, right? Nothing at all, except Iron Man is actually Tony Stark's SON. Basically, "OK, kids love Iron Man, but they can't identify with some crusty old guy - he should be a smart-assed teenager. Fuck the comics." www.comicbookmovie.com/news/articles/4828.aspAnd God only knows what they've done to The Mandarin. He looks like a second rate Power Rangers villain. I'll give it this, though - it does look VERY nice, and it might actually be alright.. but whatever it is, it sure ain't Iron Man.

I'll skip it, just like the new Spider-Man and Batman cartoons they've been making, along with all of those straight-to-DVD animated superhero features. The cartoons I've watched since I was a kid and the live action movies are all that interest me on the superhero front.
By the way, I just got back from seeing Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk back to back at my local dollar theater, and I encourage everybody to do the same if you can. They make a great double feature!

The new "Spider-Man" is actually great. It stays really true to the spirit of the original comics while maintaining a completely fresh story full of surprises. The art isn't great, but the narrative is intriguing. If they kill Gwen Stacy (I doubt it) I'll be both devastated and utterly impressed.
"The Batman" had it's moments, but was inferior in every way to the classic 90's series. Check out the "Justice League" series if you liked that one. It is bar-none the best.

So how do you watch all these cartoons, Trashy? Do you buy them or just watch them on TV?

Whichever. If they're on television, I DVR them and if not I rent them. As far as comic cartoons go, I've pretty much seen them all at this point so keeping up is easy. It's the anime that kills me trying to keep up with the sheer volume of quality stuff out there. Juggling animation, horror, sci-fi, superheroes, martial-arts, fantasy and all that geek stuff is hard as hell. And that's not taking into account comics, internet, music, video games, a full-time job, AND a very active family life. Busy much? Sleep: way overrated.
