Easily one of your best reviews Trashy; from the "He's back" and whispering to the camera gave the review a real "TV" sort of feel, and it's nice you don't just talk about the show itself but the society surrounding it.
You also come across as unpretentious and engaging. I'm only pissed this show has never even touched our shores for 2 seconds. The fear of being classed as "racist" in this country at the moment, I don't think that's going to change.
A real shame. But, still - great review Trashy.

I think I said before that Boondocks would probably never fly in the European society. It's just ridiculously bold and full of stuff that offend most people even over here in assholeland. I showed it to a dude who is usually into that sort of thing and he said he couldn't watch it because it was just to wrong. People are just petrified of unfettered racial dialogue. But shows like this give me hope that someday it won't be so.
This is particularly funny if you're familiar with the characters as Riley does not wear glasses, uses the N-word at least twice in every sentence, and -as his brother points out in the same episode- thought "Nigga" was his name until he was three due to the family's pervasive use of the word. The joke being that somehow when a white person says it, it's taken by the public as some kind of horrible offense that they use as an excuse to sue for just to get money in spite of the fact that they honestly don't give a shit who says the word or how. One of the best episodes of any show ever.

Good GOD I've got to buy this show. And I've actually seen the video it's spoofing too.. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=XURRzofbMc0&feature=relatedI don't think the situation is ever going to change. This generation and the next generation are going to keep on thinking that a) black people can call each other "nigger" and b) it's offensive if white people say it. That's about as basic as it gets, and I don't think it'll ever change. But again - I fucking NEED this show.

Holy fucking hell, that is funny. Thank you for that. I hadn't even seen it. And I thought it was ridiculous and outrageous in fictional cartoon form! Those charts are too much. As some of the comments on my review show, not everybody agrees but I absolutely see the N-word situation changing rapidly as language and culture evolves. Look at the situation a generation ago and look at it now. That is not a long period of time and we're already to the point where the word is being used regularly as a term of endearment. I've even been called it in a non-ironic fashion. I'm a cynic, but I won't deny change I see before my eyes and hopefully once the generation that has experienced and inflicted true racial suffering has passed on then we can see some real progress.
