If you think that the sexual exploitation of kids is a fairly new, MTV spawned thing - think again. A 15 year old Mandy Moore pouting through "Candy" in her bedroom (take a look, you know you want to)
(will I admit to buying this single because it had the video on it? Er.. no, I won't) is a world away from this British TV travesty from the early 80s - Minipops.
Basically, have VERY young children sing and dance to some pop songs. What could go wrong? Hmmm, well, how about when you cake FIVE YEAR OLD girls in make-up and have them singing songs about "making love"?
I dare you to sit all the way through this. It's borderline impossible.
Seriously - who the FUCK thought that would be a good idea?

That "Candy" vid was all over MTV back then. So happy it flopped. 36 seconds on that second one. God, I wish I could track down the fucking perverts that made that atrocious show and kick them in the face. Ogling a well-developed 15 year old is one thing, but fucking kindergartners? Vile. It is not even a little bit cute unless you're that kid's mother or something; there is only one demographic that would watch that trash. You'd be amazed by how many people know every word to these sexual pop songs but have no idea what they are about. God, I hate people.
