As an American, it is embarrassing to look at my country and see that the majority of states still have outdated prejudice wired into their legislation. I'm talking, of course, about the status of gay marriage in the United States. It is astonishing to think that, in this day and age, the majority of states still have gay marriage outlawed. Women having the right to vote? The year 1920 saw that come to be. Black and white children being integrated into the same schools? Took care of that in 1954. But two grown men or two grown women being legally recognized as a married couple if they so choose to be? It's 2009, and up until now, only five of the 50 states had made that kind of equality official. Progress is slow, but we can now increase that tally to six. As of today, New Hampshire has become the latest state to dispel of the 1950s-era bullshit. www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gUUXsl3sakXbS8W1AYb4xSxxEMIgD98JGU382Bravo, I say. Now if only my beloved home state of North Carolina could get with the times.

We had it legalized here in Cali for a time, but it was stricken down by an amendment to our state constitution. That's right, a constitutional amendment to legally define a word. Unbefuckinglievable. I was content that the voters passed it because I knew that the judiciary wouldn't let it stand.....but they did. They fucking backed changing our constitution to legally define marriage as between a man and woman. Then what the fuck do we need a dictionary for? Why don't we use our constitution to legally define homosexuality as love between a man and woman as well? In this wikipedia democracy, why not? And dogs can now be called cats so long as they legislate it that way. This is staggering to me. Out of state hicks hate Californians because we are supposedly so progressive and always ahead of the curve on this kind of shit and they view us as the cause of all these unsightly changes that are usually universally viewed as common decency down the line. Now we are the hicks. Furthermore, the only reason people can give for why gays should not marry is because of loose translations from the Bible. Oh, hello First Amendment with your "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion", where have you been? Oh, being ignored by your own fucking government and the illiterate masses again, I see. So if legislators are working contrary to our constitution, where does that leave us? I agree....bring me my Guy Fawkes mask. Lets get medieval on this bitch.

Any state or country that still defines their actions over what is written in the bible should be condemned. Have your own beliefs and moral code, by all means, but judging and ruling over consenting adults and what they choose to do, all because of some barely legible gibberish from an ancient book is fucking pathetic.
It's times like these that I'm actually glad to be from the UK. You guys have way more to be pissed off about than I do.
On another (similar) note, I've been doing some "research" into Prussian Blue for an Amazon review, and I have to switch off after a few minutes. Watching Youtube clips and reading the backwards, moronic attitudes these fucking CRETINS still have... it's disgusting.

Yeah, I was going to review them, but I couldn't make it through a song. I laughed them up on one of Orlok's threads on Lunch, but I just couldn't bring myself research those little Aryan fucktards anymore. Is gay marriage legal in Europe? The messed up thing is The USA was intrinsically designed to prevent discrimination based on religion.

Yeah, gay marriage has been legal in Europe (well, in the UK at least, not sure about anywhere else) for a few years now. In fact, the media frowns VERY strongly on anything vaguely homophobic. A UK comedian and TV presenter made a joke about a Hannah Montana watch that was meant for boys, saying he would worry about his son if ever bought that, and would wait until the day he brought his "life partner" home (or something along those lines, anyway) and it made FRONT PAGE news.
That's not to say the UK is all liberal minded or anything - far from it, unfortunately. But any racist/homophobic remarks made by people in the media get roasted - basically it just doesn't happen if that particular person wants to have a career.
For example, that prick on your news shows.. Bill O'Reilly, I think it is? There's no way he'd get any exposure on UK television. Whether that's a good thing or not (free speech and all), is another matter.

The problem with O'Reilley is EVERY ignorant scared Christian bigot in the country watches him and hangs on his every word because he tells them they are the best and every problem in their life is somebody else's fault. The result is big ratings for what is really a very unpopular show. Only a minority agree with him, but everybody who does agree watches him every single day. If it weren't for FOX News, he would never have a place on television to spew that stupidity. No other network would touch the guy.
