Now, arguably this should go in the "Music" section, but, well, we're not really talking about their MUSIC here. It's another one of those Hot list things that have been pretty popular in here lately. Rating hot girls - what could be easier? Oh, and no - Amy Winehouse isn't listed, oddly enough.
Now, I know the majority of Dwellers are American, so instead of just pictures, I've given a brief description of the popstar in question in case you're unfamiliar with the girl in question, and I've also included pics and a video (if Youtube allow it, of course. Us Brits got shafted by Youtube recently). Not that I expect you to watch the whole videos or anything, but you can get a glimpse of them in action.
Anyway, it's the most recent and relevant solo artists only - if I included girlbands this contest would be a non-starter. Cheryl Cole from Girls Aloud would, of course, walk it.
And if we were going into the past, Geri Halliwell would win my heart each and every time.
Dammmmmmn.
And I've also not included generic pop tarts who are only there for the sheer T&A factor, these girls actually do contribute something to their music. Well, most of them. But anyway, on with the show.
1. Lily Allen
A tabloid favourite ever since her debut, she's mouthy, controversial, smart, is hated by the BNP (racist British political group - she wrote a song called "Fuck You" about them), oh - and hot.
The Paris Hilton type bashing single "The Fear."
2. Kate Nash
Blew the pop scene apart in 2007, Kate Nash's often child-like manner and lyrics in some songs are then countered by the likes of the brutally honest "Foundations."
Foundations..
3. Mutya Buena
Was part of still going girl band the Sugababes, Mutya's embarked on a decent enough single's career. Mouthy and a bit of a bruiser, apparently. Sadly, turned up on Celebrity Big Brother last year. Sigh. I'd let her off, though.
Here's the Lenny Kravitz sampling "Real Girl"
4. Alesha Dixon
Was on the pop scrapheap for a few years after the Destiny's Child rip-off girlband Mystique folded, she came back this year with some biiig hits after winning, ugh, Strictly Come Dancing. The British Beyonce, we're lead to believe. Not quite.
Her comeback single "The Boy Does Nothing." If she wasn't smoking hot, this would possibly be the most irritating song in the world.
5. Sophie Ellis-Bextor
The non-more British Sophie has been quiet on the music scene for a year or so now (she had a baby) but is back now. And looking hotter than ever. And that voice... yum yum. My favourite.
"Take Me Home." Oh.. go on, then.
6. Dido
God I fucking hate Dido's music. The soundtrack to a bank managers dinner party. But she's pretty damn fine, got to be said.
And if you can stomach it, here's "Here With Me."
7. Polly Scattergood
A new discovery by The Curmudgeon, she's yet to break into the mainstream but think of her as a young Kate Bush. No ghostly video though, unfortunately. Not naturally gorgeous by any means, but still..
One of my favourite songs right now, the moody, brilliant "Other Too Endless."
9. Little Boots
A new kid on the block, and one that has every music journalist foaming at the mouth to talk about how amazing she is. What's that? A hot blonde singing bouncy pop songs that she wrote in her bedroom? Aiiieeee!
Little Boots: New In Town
10. Duffy
She was pretty much everywhere last year and some say she looks like a duck. Some say she sounds like a duck. All I know is, I would usually like to bang her, but in the beyond irritating video for Diet Coke, (I don't imagine you get it over in the US, just take my word for it) I would like to strangle her and set her on fire.
Duffy: Mercy
11. Pixie Lott
And lastly, Pixie Lott, who's number one in the UK right now. Signed at just 14 years old, she could well be the Next Big Thing. And looking this good, who am I to argue? Note: she's 18 now, so it's OK to perv.
Pixie Lott: Mama Do
OK, I'm exhausted. I've picked mine - now its your turn.
