That isn't Deadpool. Ha, only kidding, but I'm pretty sure at least ONE person is going to pick him. So, forget Spidey. See ya, Batman. Laters, Captain America. This thread is dedicated to the bad guys who do good, the anti-authority figures who've either turned good (Juggernaut, for example) or follow their own code and trample over anyone who happens to get in their way, hero or villain. I'm no comics expert, I'm pretty much a Marvel only guy, so I'm sure there's a few DC anti-heroes (Lobo, for one) and characters from the 2000AD Universe that may qualify. But for me, when you say comic book anti-hero, the original and best always springs to mind. This guy; Yes indeed, Namor the Sub-Mariner. Now onto his 70th year, he's a character that was decades ahead of his time - a bad guy that not only you wanted to root for, but actually had a point (he hated humans for polluting and poisoning the planet). Originally a villain, he's sided with Dr Doom and continues to hate the human race and Reed Richards in particular, (can't blame him for that) while forever lusting after Sue Storm (can't blame him for that either). Regal, cool, vicious, hard as nails out of water and pretty much invincible in water, he made DC's attempt (Aquaman - even the NAME sucks!) look like a sub-par phony in comparison. Now THAT is an anti-hero. What's yours?

There's been enough Deadpool discussion here. For now. I think Batman has evolved into a sort of anti-hero with the way he pushes away everybody he cares about and bends the rules. Hell, he was threatening to shut down The Birds of Prey for a long while. How fucked up is it to try and stifle the endeavors of a woman who was paralyzed by your own arch nemesis' bullet? The dude's so unsociable he designs weapons specifically made to take out his FRIENDS. That's cold. But too high-profile. I'm going to go with Lady Shiva. Who is that? The most accomplished assassin and badass martial-artist in the DC Universe is all. She's trained Batman (in spite of finding him "unworthy"), Black Canary, and The Question among others, gave birth to Ra's al Ghul's perfect assassin (who would grow up to be the new Batgirl), and forced her way into The Birds of Prey, but is best known simply for killing effortlessly with her bare hands. Canary and Catwoman together couldn't take her on back in the day. As cold-blooded as she is she has extreme respect for skilled opponents and once killed an entire group of assailants except for the one who managed to cut her. That dude got a kiss on the forehead for being awesome enough to even touch her. She's come to the aid of several heroes and when Oracle was threatened by Spy-Smasher and she called in all of the former Birds (after the wheelchair-bound redhead kicked her ass) to come out in a show of force to intimidate her further lest she try again Shiva was among them. The funny thing about that was that nobody called her. She found out on her own and showed up to support her old comrades in spite of the slight whcih implies that she keeps tabs on all of her "friends" and harbors great respect for them in spite of their distaste for her murderous profession. So badass. It's a crying shame that she's never appeared outside of a comic book except for the BOP television series where she was all bubbly and un-Shiva like.
