There was a time in the 1990s when really pretty average soft drink Tango was more famous for its adverts (or commercials, if you will) than for its products. Someone, somewhere, must have thought, "let's make a series of adverts that will probably get banned or complained about but, more importantly, will have everyone talking about them." And so it began, with the first "zany" ad that was banned after kids started doing it at school.. 'cos I'm sure kids never used to hit each other before this ad or anything. Then there was this one, not banned but still got complaints - from fatties, obviously. Then this one wasn't allowed to be shown before 9pm because it was "too scary." And then this one was outright banned because it encouraged the bullying of fat people. Seriously. Anyway, things have been quiet on the Tango front for a few years, but they made the headlines again today after complaints about the front of the cans, "Tango With Added Tango", which sounds innocent but looks like www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2498935/Tango-can-spells-out-obscenity.htmlI'm not sure but do they say the word "twat" in the US? It's a fairly obscene word over here. Anyway, this thread proves two things; 1 - With a bit of creativity, the usually tedious adverts that appear on television can actually be the most entertaining thing on it, and 2 - people in the UK will complain about fucking ANYTHING.

Funny! Those might cause a stir here in the States too. We currently have some Subway commercials (or adverts) that make fun of fatasses. But really half of our country is leaning towards obesity, and nobody seems to care much.

"You need it because you're weak!" Best motto ever! Those were the best commercials ever. If they had them like that over here, I wouldn't have to skip them. Fat people are abut the only group it's okay to still make fun of. Soon it will be labeled a disease and mentioning a fat person;s weight will be akin to slapping a 10 year-old cancer patient so get your licks in while you can! Twat is definitely a rude word, but it has comedic properties in The States then in the UK.
