So Floyd Mayweather says that boxing is dominated by black people and hispanics because it takes more skill and MMA is a sport for beer-drinking white people, who are animals. Unbelievable. Of course, the truth is that MMA is worldwide and features high profile fighters from Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Europe, and about every other major country in addition to the US. And how is it a combat sport that consists only of striking with your hands takes more skill then one that utilizes many different styles of striking, wrestling, judo, and jiu-jitsu, to name a few? And whenever somebody precedes a statement by saying they aren't racist, they are probably going to say something profoundly racist. Thanks, Floyd; you just set race relation back about 20 years in addition to making your sport look like the one for "beer drinkers" ya fucking retard.

What a fucking idiot. And yet, if a WHITE guy were to say that about black fighters the race alarms would be deafening. No good white boxers? What about Ricky Hatton that took him to the 10th round? What about Calzaghe, who retired as undefeated champion?
MMA is certainly more dangerous than boxing (especially nowadays), but the sheer balls, level of skill and pain threshold required to compete at a professional level at something like that goes beyond what most guys could ever hope to achieve.
Mayweather's always been a prick. He got signed to appear in a cross-promotional match thing at Wrestlemania, and they tried everything they could to make him look like a good guy; he was seen hanging out with the good guys, he came to the aid of one of the most popular guys and faced off against one of the biggest bad guys - and the crowd STILL boo'd him out the place. In the end, they had to change the entire storyline and turn the bad guy into the GOOD guy and let Mayweather be, well, himself.
I'd pay money to see him go toe-to-toe with some of those "beer drinkers", though. They'd fucking eat him alive.

Seriously. A guy like Matt Hughes would pick him up, run him across the ring, powerslam him, and then elbow him in the face until the referee pulled him off. Then he'd go drink a beer while Mayweather had facial reconstruction surgery. Boxing is actually more damaging to fighters in the long term because in MMA once you are out, you are done. Boxing gloves cushion the impact to make the hits less likely to cut or knock somebody unconscious, but the blunt force to the head is still there. Having a slow 10 second count to get back up when you are hardly even conscious is ridiculous. These boxers are often out on their feet getting crushed in the head over and over for several rounds after the fight was as good as over. This is BAD for the brain. Once a fighter is down and out, the fight should be over. No standing 8-count bullshit. That's how people get brain damaged or worse. MMA looks more brutal, but in terms of permanent damage boxing can be more dangerous with it's 12-15 round fights.

Welterweight: White French-Canadian.
Middleweight: Black Brazilian
Light Heavyweight: Biracial Japanese-Brazilian
Heavyweight: White American
Muticultural, yeah? Maybe boxing is dominated by blacks and hispanics because nobody else cares about it anymore. MMA is global and universal. It caters to every style of fighting and that's why it is growing astronomically.
