Should Madonna be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Probably not; not for lack of fame, but for lack of rock. So how does she handle this honor? She refuses to perform at her induction and instead hands the stage to punk rock O.G's The Stooges -who should have been inducted YEARS ago- to perform two of her songs in her stead. God bless that evil, fanatically pseudo-religious attention whore who's relevant career ended in the early 90's; she's just gained back a significant amount of my respect. Seeing Iggy Pop perversely hissing lyrics to "Like a Virgin" before dropping the mic and just walking off the stage just made my day. youtube.com/watch?v=sGzXzO_rGIY&feature=related

Well, I personally think the only reason Madonna shouldn't get inducted is for name alone - she isn't rock and roll. But if its a ceremony honouring the pioneers of modern music - I have absolutley no problem with Madonna getting an induction.
I don't think her relevant career ended at all. True, most of her music sucks now (save for a few more recent singles) but she still sells more records than every other female artist. Whether that's a good thing or not is debatable, but its the truth.
Iggy Pop should have been one of the first, like, ten people inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but that's another rant for another day.

She definitely deserves to be inducted into some sort of Hall of Fame (rock and roll? Idunno), but she really lost me for good when she put this out: youtube.com/watch?v=ezTy8FdmglQ Try to make it to the end of THAT. I dare you! And then there's this abortion: youtube.com/watch?v=rIxrsNSxJvo which The Curmudgeon righteously thrashed on an Amazon review, and this one: youtube.com/watch?v=IlDmfusx1q8Come on, if this stuff isn't a cry for help I don't know what the hell is. A relevant artist would not and could not put this shit out. "Acid Rock"? What the hell is that about? I know what it is, but not how it relates in any way to Madonna. As for her sales, I think we all know that if it's on TV or radio, idiots will buy it -regardless of quality- on recognition alone. To her credit, she's still smoking hot, but that's of no use to me when she's covered up and rapping about soy latte's while desecrating an exceptionally scholarly religion's name by endorsing a fake, dumbed-down, fast-food variation of Kaballah. I don't care what religious beliefs one has, but either do it properly or keep it to yourself. Preferably both.
