Thinking back on it, my family had some pretty cool shit. For one, my mum had legit, old tarot cards, something every girl in my class was obsessed with once they found out I had them. We also had a Ouija board passed down from my gran. Again, something every girl in my class was obsessed with. Why I wasn't fighting off chicks every day I have no idea. Maybe it was the dyed black hair and the Prince obsession. Could be that. Something else we had, and I have no idea where we got it (if memory serves, it's still in our garage), was one of these.. A "Crying Boy" painting, a (for some reason) fairly popular image that had a few variants. I'm kinda gutted we didn't have this fucking terrifying painting.. Who the fuck would want that in their house? Anyway, during the early 80s the media went a bit nuts about these pictures, saying they were cursed and your house would burn down if you kept it there. They even made a documentary about the damn things, and the Sun newspaper held a mass burning of the paintings. Thankfully, my dad's not a moron and didn't burn it, and it remains an odd talking point for anyone visiting the house now. Now, it would be easy to laugh and dismiss it all as remnants of a more innocent age, before one Google search told you the truth about everything. But then, it's inspired hopeless drivel like this www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vi4DT1dGVo&feature=relatedSo did this story ever make the US? Or have you ever heard of any bizarre modern folk-lore?

I hate seeing children cry. I really wouldn't want a painting of it at my house. I know there's tons of stupid folklore like this, but I'm not getting anything good at the moment.
