If you've got a spare 50 minutes to kill, you could certainly do worse with your time than hunt down Gameswipe on Youtube, a special look at the history of videogames, from their humble beginnings to the "all games are evil" panic in the 90s to their all conquering dominance today, all through the eyes of Fortress favourite Charlie Brooker. Just as a taster, here's Brooker taking a look at 50 Cent's videogame attempt. What you don't hear is the sound of a million 14 year old 50 fans tearing out their hair in anger whilst watching this clip. www.youtube.com/watch?v=__xq-D0uVrc&feature=relatedThis genre is probably my favourite type of game, the free-roaming "just behind the main character" viewpoint thing. I adored Max Payne and the Punisher, tried to enjoy but didn't know what the fuck I was doing Boba Fett game, played to death the Spider-Man and Hulk games and worshipped arguably the best example - Batman: Arkhym Asylum. As soon as I start a game and its one of these kinds, I know I'll love it. But there's no fucking way I'd even touch this.

The first Fiddy game was so awful that that one is supposed to be brilliant in comparison. Calling out 50 Cent with sodomy wins Brooker my Man of the Year award. That man is awesome.

Holy shit, he's been in TWO games? If that one's supposed to be better than the first, God only knows how bad the original must've been. What is with hip hop idiots wanting to look macho in video games? Ever played Def Jam Vendetta? I almost came away from that thing gay I was so repulsed at the preposterous overtly macho bullshit. I'd meant to show this before, so here's as good a place as any. With the release of the Walking Miracle that is Susan fucking Boyle's debut album around the corner (just you wait, Amazon!), here's Brooker's take on the whole sorry affair. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYbL8BwTqnkGod bless that man.
