One of the great debates that will never reach a logical conclusion regards disclosing wherabouts of known sex offenders in your local vicinity. It's obviously within your rights to know if there is a known sex offender living next door to you and your kids but at the same time, these people HAVE paid their debts to society and have rights to, something that wouldn't happen if everyone knew they were kiddie fiddlers. So what to do? Well, you may notice this thread is in the Time Wasters section, so we're not here to discuss that. We're not going to talk about sex offenders rights, we're not going to talk about whether they deserve to live in decent society. We're here to watch them DANCE. www.cracked.com/video_18120_the-sex-offender-shuffle.htmlI forgive them already.

I think an exception should be made for sex offenders as far as privacy rights go because paid debt or not, they have a colossal repeat offense rate and if the guy next door could potentially rape and murder your child, a heads-up on that is nice. I will break from my usual anti-fascist stance to endorse chemical castration for multiple and severe offenders. Anyways, damn funny video. Needs more breakdancing.

See, I don't think there IS a solution to sex offenders, short of making them do this dance. Obviously you need to know if a potential (and known) threat lives next door but that just leads to house torching and lynch mobs. And that's a whole other arguement too.
In the UK we have what's known as as the Sex Offenders Register, where if you're caught your name goes down on the list. And there are petitions for the general public to be made aware of any members of that register that are living among them. Which is fair enough, but if you consider that some monster that molests a three year old and a 22 year old guy takes home a 15 year old posing as an adult will be branded the same.. that doesn't sit right, surely?

No, that's bullshit. And so are the lynch mobs. I do think that the police should protect those people from being harassed so long as they walk the line, and I do think there is a wide margin between "statutory rape" and child molestation that shouls be reflected legally. Especially in cases where the child was posing as an adult.

I think that's why there'll never be an easy solution to this sort of thing. Too many just want to burn these people alive or hang them from the nearest tree. And if you do something once, serve your sentence and don't repeat the crime but STILL end up facing death from angry mobs, what's the point of any sort of criminal justice system in the first place?
I think I'm oddly addicted to this video. The blurred face guy's "I'm possibly a sex offender" line had me rolling five minutes ago, and the female one is really kinda hot. And Sam Pound? What a guy.
