Well, far be it from me to "ram electronica down your throat" (I just read that comment, Trashy!), so today not only do I have some rock music, but from a band that everyone here will have heard of. Just not necessarily a band that everyone here like. It's Marilyn Manson. Yeah, yeah, Alice Cooper blah blah. Whatever. I love Manson, always have. And I only recently got his new album and thought you might like to hear this stand out track. It's not a single, which is a shame as it's easily the best song on the album. So no official video, but this amateur one is pretty good. www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3JlVnlUcR8&feature=relatedNow, come on.. you gotta dig this, right?

Don't go changing your format just to appease me, sellout! Feel free to ram whatever you like wherever you like (douchebag: "That's what SHE said!"). Pay no mind to my caustic sense of humor. Jesus was born in America? Is Manson down with some offshoot of Mormonism? As much as Manson rips off Cooper with his stage antics, musically it's almost uncanny how much he steals from Ministry. I almost never hear one of his tunes and don't immediately think it sounds like someone else. That said, yeah that song is pretty badass. That I can listen to.

Hmmmm. If Ministry sound like that, I may well have to give them a try too.
So, what's your hatred for Manson? I mean, I can understand hating the Manson persona and the Brian Warner musician, they're both love/hate figures (obviously I'm the former, he's one of those guys I am continually interested in, putting him in the small group of musicians like Prince and Bowie that I will happily absorb whatever it is they're producing.. unless it's shit, of course).
But don't you at least dig the music? Fair enough draw a line in the sand at the glut of 80s covers designed absolutely to raise cash and profile, but you've got to admit some Manson music pretty much owns, no?

Yes. There are definitely Manson songs that I dig. I even liked his cover of "Sweet Dreams". But like I said, almost anything he gives me has already been done better by somebody else. And then there's his almost perpetual hypocrisy and media-whoring that just makes me want to ignore him altogether.
Ministry is fucking awesome. Rob Zombie cribbed a bunch from those guys too. Here's how you do a heavy cover of an established hit and make it truly awesome and not just an obvious and creatively bankrupt grab for cash.
It's almost inconceivable to me how much Manson songs like "Kill Your God" sounds like Ministry. This means it's a cool-sounding song, but it also means I can't listen to it without thinking about Ministry which isn't really a prescription for Manson love. It just makes me like Ministry more.

Wow, they totally ripped Manson off with that one.
Which is what I would have thought if I'd first heard it and didn't know otherwise. Damn.. talk about an eye-opener. Still love him, though.
Ministry is exactly the sort of rock music I'm into. The purpose of these threads is discovering new music you would otherwise not have heard, so.. consider this one a success. Thanks, Trashy.

That one sounds less like Manson then a lot of their stuff. I wish I could remember the name of the songs I'm thinking of, but I kind of suck at that.
