For the past couple of weeks now I've covered albums that no-one else has heard of (that I know, anyway) except me. And, er, Marilyn Manson. But no-one heard the record "America" was off, anyway. This time I'm covering a band who's album has just hit number one in the UK, about 30 weeks after it first emerged. As usual, The Curmudgeon was ahead of everyone else and first saw Florence and the Machine in a venue that holds about 200 people (Mrs C even got a picture taken in the girl's toilets with Florence). Anyway, the following song isn't the song(s) that broke the band, but it's the song that got me interested in them. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SmxVCM39j4Likee?

Not bad, but I could live without. Sounds too much like 100 other bands right now. But I'm always up for a good spousal abuse anthem.

Yeah, nothing like a nice love song about smashing plate's over girls heads. Perfect for Valentine's Day, anyway. I guarantee if this song gets re-released now the band are big it'll cause some bullshit controversy.
