If you happen to look across the next world tour of Britney Spears, you may be surprised to see that China won't be on the list of destinations. Strange?
Not really - they've banned miming.
So much so, in fact, that two performers who mimed are being charged about 13 grand for doing so. So I can't imagine Britney's plastic mic strapped to her face going down a storm there.
So do you think this should be enforced elsewhere in the world? Surely if you're a SINGER, then you should be able to, you know, SING? Makes sense to me. Certainly eliminate the fakers of the world, that's for sure.

Nope. If people are dumb enough to pay for it, you can hardly blame somebody for charging for it. And that's really fucking rich coming from the country that replaced the little girl who sang their national anthem or whatever at their Olympics with a prettier girl that lip-synced her performance. What a joke.

Ha ha, I didn't know that. Yeah, that is pretty rich. As ignorant as this may sound, China is a pretty fucked up place.
As for the miming, I think there should be a disclaimer on the tickets or the website or ad promoting the concert, saying "pre-recorded vocals may be used in this performance" or something along those lines, then if you really ARE stupid enough to pay money to see it then on your own head be it. I still read angry comments from Britney fans who were surprised and outraged that she mimed at a show.
The thing is, I don't understand WHY Britney mimes. It's not like she's belting out Celine Dion type ballads (thank God). She could easily sing her back catalogue. OK, it won't be note perfect, but what live shows are? It's just something I find baffling about her. Is it a confidence thing? A managment thing? Who knows?

she needs to focus on the choreography and she's just not very good a singer, point blank. She can sing about as good as your average karaoke girl, but I'm sure she doesn't want to bring that mess to the stage and get booed by kids who want to hear it sound exactly like the CD and don't understand about studio effects. That's why I like my sound raw.
