Well, you know, after the fun I had with the "Your Verdict" series, I thought I'd do something similar. Except instead of music I'm listening to right damn now, I thought I'd delve through the mists of time and showcase some of the bands, artists and songs that shaped my tragic youth. Now, obviously I'm not going to post Nirvana or Prince videos (good luck finding the latter, anyway) or any band or artist that you'll have obviously have heard of. No point in that. Anyway, you know the drill by now; listen to the song and give your verdict. Introduction first; Bis were a cult Scottish band that never found mainstream success despite sounding like about 200 other bands that broke through about a decade later, all of them paying homage to the quirky lo-fi rockers. Songs about dinosaurs, vampires with anime style artwork, they then matured into a more serious outfit, and while they lost their kooky side, the music didn't suffer. Anyway, this song is notable in that it was the first song to ever be played by a band on UK TV staple Top of the Pops with no record deal. Here's Kandy Pop. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOJTuAbZNpkVerdict?

Kicked my ass from the first note. I'm betting Melt Banana and Shonen Knife listened to a lot of these guys (or vice versa). When were they formed I've got to get me some of this.....Huh? I just wikied these guys nad there's only a current Japanese band to show. Even weirder that I saw that vid and immediately thought about how Japanese it sounded.

Japanophiles. I knew it! Game recognize game, as they say.
Wish listed. I've an overabundance of new music right now, but I'll have to check them out in the future.
